Did I make a mistake

This is my new haircut. I'm not sure about it. I thibnk it could be shorter. The stylist wanted
me to think about and come back next week if I still want to go shorter.
Opionions please!
Sorry its the end of a long day and my make-up looks awful!

I think its really nice and I love the colour. While I do like it, I do think you could take it shorter as well if you wanted more of a change...but it really suits you.

I like the haircut better than what you had, it has more movement and balances your face shape very well.
And believe me when I say you look fabulous, no matter what time of the day.

Debbie, I think the length could either go shorter or stay as is, but whichever you choose, when you style it, can the "sections" of the cut be more integrated? Not sure if I'm saying that clearly, but I mean that the top and the bottom seem like pretty different styles, and I'm wondering if the "line" between them could be blurred a little. A little product, a little scrunching? The color looks fantastic -- did you change that as well, or is the lighting just different?

I agree with Anna. It looks a little too "done" at the moment, which I sometimes experience too after getting out of the salon.

I think it will look better when you wash it and wear it naturally and it the flip isn't so exaggerated.

The stylist seems like she took it to the extreme with the wings. Let's see what it's like after YOU wash and style it. I love the color!

Oooh! I love the colour too!

I was going to say what Una said. Wash it and style it your own way tomorrow first and see how it goes. Then try going shorter like Jane Fonda.

I agree... right now it's too styled/done up. We have to see the haircut after you wash it and style it yourself to truly see how it will look!

Color looks great, but the haircut doesn't look much shorter too me, just styled to be flipped out like that, which I'm not liking it so much on you.

Debbie, the top and bangs are perfect..
the rest needs to come up..mid ear. call her back and bring the photo's with you..it needs another3 to 4 inches off for a visible difference
I am kinda bummed she didn't do more!

Your color and shine are really pretty. I also like the top and front. I like Renata's suggestion as the hair type looks more like your hair ... fine and straight. Its really a pretty hair style.

Debbie, you have made a wonderful start! I think the color works really well on you. I definitely agree with those in the go shorter camp-- I really think it will suit you. Speaking from my own experience, I had wings like that once and got tired of them really fast.

I agree with the other comments that the color and top look really good. I think you could easily lose some more length, ala the Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren suggestions.

Not much to add, as I agree with the advice of going shorter . I like the idea of bringing in pictures! Perhaps your stylist was afraid to cut off too much in case you hated it, but sounds like she's ready to get out the scissors if you want!

In any case, you are on your way to looking very stylish; you have wonderful shiny hair to work with!

My very first gut reaction was, yes, to go shorter, but I am no hair expert. The ladies have offered fab suggestions re: Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda. Both of those styles have softness and sophistication and would suit you quite well, in my opinion. I would prefer to see more volume on top and less on the sides, for what it is worth. Do let us know how everything works out.

Yes, I love the new color and the beautiful shine. Your bangs are great too - and good fringe is hard to do!

I hope you've tried styling it yourself and we can see new pics.

I just gave up another inch or two in length at my last haircut. . . I don't know why it is, but I do think as we 'mature', shorter hair *typically* looks more flattering!

Maybe Taylor & Renata can confirm, deny, or explain?

MNsara, I think it's a combination of how young you appear, your hair quality, and weather longer hair looks good on you at all regardless of age. If you've never looked good with long hair, you probably NEVER will

The color is rich and shiny - love it! I also love the way your stylist layered the bangs.

I agree with Una and Angie that you need to wash and style your hair, yourself, at least once before deciding whether or not to go back for more clipping.

However, I'll say this: I put my fingers along each side of your photo to block the "wings" and see how you'd look with short hair ... and I thought it looked fab! I can see you with something sleek and tucked behind your ears - integrated with the layered bangs. Tousle it up with a little mousse ... and it would be so fresh!

Debbie, the color is absolutely luscious! It is so shiny and rich looking. What did you decide to do? I just looked at your other post with your dinner outfit and think your hair looks sensational in it. Did you get more cut off or did you style it yourself. You have beautiful hair!
