Did anyone get these boots from NAS?

I am now purging boots and realizing that two tall black boots need to go (vintage 60s 'square toed; gearish black Merrells). That leaves me with a tall black boot hole for work. I do have the suede ones but I'm not sure they work with everything, and I'd like something that fits tight to my calf.

Is the stretch on these odd? Or likely to wear out over time? Any other concerns you see?

These are the ones that I tried in 7.5. I couldn't fill them out enough and hence they were too tall. They work on sarah, modgirl and Shannon though. I think you should try

Kelly, if you can't wear them there's no way I could! My legs are so skinny and I'm shorter than you. I didn't realize these were those same boots. Will have to go back to your thread.

I think you should try them. They didn't work because of my foot size. Angie said the larger the foot, the taller the shaft (and probably wider circumference too.) They look amazing on some of the other forum members. That being said, I think you have skinny ankles too--that may be a problem.

How were they otherwise? Is the stretchy shaft nice or weird? Going back to search other threads now...

Kim thought it looked like I was wearing a rubber sock. DH liked them. I thought they were cool but too wrinkly and too tall.

FYI I ended up exchanging them for my regular 9 1/2 size.

MPJ, thanks! Do you like them? Have you worn them? If so, how? Funny how different they look on people. I wonder if the "sock effect" is with bare legs.

Haven't worn them yet (darn warm fall weather!) but I will be wearing them over skinnies and also plan to wear them with my Halogen skirts and hosiery.

Hey Una - I got them and love them! They are very comfortable, fit true to size and I love how the "stretchy" top part has given to work with either just tights and a dress, or you can tuck in your skinny jeans into them.

They also fit my shorter calves which was a major bonus. There is a small amount of "bunching" at the ankle but that doesn't bother me at all.

I have them too and they fit fab on my narrow calves. Plus they are waterproof to boot so up to winter stanards!

Una, I love mine, but I'm worried that your ankles will be too skinny for them. Someone with very small ankles tried them and they didn't work well, although for the life of me I can't remember who it was now. But give them a try. They are waterproof, which would be a big bonus in AK.

I don't think these will work for you, Una. From what I recall, they worked best on calves that make them stretch a little, so that the shaft has a shape. Especially the ankles, and we both know how that goes. It says the boot has a 13" circumference, and if you look at them from the side, there is hardly any difference between the top and the ankle. :T

Yeah, I've studied the pictures and I think so too, Rae. Too bad because MaryK had me all psyched about chain mail boots. Thanks for the thoughtful analysis!

Una, I didn't get the Blondos but right before NAS the Aquatalias (identical look) went on sale and I got them. It hasn't been cold enough to wear them yet but they work on my skinny calves.

I bought the Blondo's but I am going to have to return them. They are starting to come apart at the seams. I only wore them twice. Sad because they are cute.

My calf takes a 14 1/2 inch, these would not work for me, too snug.
