DH says this is odd! Is it?(K/R)

He thinks it is odd that the shirt tail sticks out below the sweater. I don't think so! It's funny because I've worn something similar (same sweater-different blouse) without him saying anything or even doing a double-take. I don't know what about this might be bothering him, but I'm content to wear the items separately if it is a genuine odd and not just a "man" odd!

The K/R is for the plaid shirt. I've been looking since last year and this is the first one I don't feel quite so lumberjack in. It is still boxy, but I can't size down...all my IT friends know that feeling with woven shirts of wondering if the shoulders are going to rip when you are putting it on or taking it off! (It doesn't button all the way), I love the colors of this one and every time I see it hanging in my closet I get a little jolt of happiness. But...I'm not sure it is translating to a jolt of happiness on me! I do feel eager to wear it, but I can't say I think it's my absolute best look.

Both things are from JJill. I was able to "find" the sweater but for some reason it won't work on the plaid shirt.

Love the sweater on you Peri, esp WITH that shirt, tails hanging below and all (modern, in my eye). The shirt is gorgeous, I can see why you get a jolt of happiness. The detailing down the front is wonderful.

So keep both. But not sure about the DH ;-).

This outfit is fantastic on you! I love the shirt peeking out at the bottom and sleeve hems, and it looks gorgeous on its own, too. I bet it's the plaid that is giving DH pause--it probably seems quite a change from a solid shirttail showing.

I like the look of a sweater over shirt tails. It is something I see a lot on various websites so my eye has totally adjusted. Perhaps your husband hasn't been exposed to it enough to start to like it.

Does DH object to the shirt-tails, actually...or to the sleeves peeking out? I find the sleeve shapes argue with one another a bit -- the bell like wide sleeve of the sweater with the long soft sleeve of the shirt. If I were wearing it, I'd probably roll the shirt cuffs up so they don't show (warmth permitting, of course). But that is maybe just a personal quirk. Just thought I would mention it in case it is his issue.

Anyway, I think you should keep the top and wear it both ways!

I saw your shirt on the website and liked it a lot! It does have a "refined and feminine" touch, which is pleasing and suits you. Like you, I don't fare well with lumberjack looks, but I have been looking for one truly flattering plaid shirt. It's fun to play with looks that feel fresh but aren't our signature looks --- I like it with the sweater too! You look great!

I esp like the shirt with the sweater. I'm not sure what's odd, except maybe you could pull the collar more closed on the shirt... A lot of throat is exposed which maybe contradicts the warm and cozy of sweater over shirt.

Probably a man thing, because I always like tails that show a bit! With the sweater, the colour is definitely a good pick. With the plaid blouse, I'd say try some tighter pant /tights+skirts and see what you think then, a different leg line would change it up a lot. The ones you have on in the pic are a little boxy perhaps, taking away from your natural shape.

I'd also suggest trying out blouses with hi-lo/Assymetric hems or side-cut to go with the sweater! I find they add a little bit of fun when seeing the tails, give shape and movement - especially with the straight-cute of the sweater to contrast.
