Desperately seeking...Bermuda shorts

I am going on vacation next week (Disneyworld!) and need to buy some Bermuda shorts and/or clamdiggers for my trip. I'm looking for non-denim, and a something with a mid-rise - harder to find than you might think! It has to be something that's available at my local mall, because I don't have time for mail order at this point. Anyone have any recommendations?

HI! Not sure how you feel about Chicos, but they show 2 types of bermudas on their website......I have very mixed luck with them but it might be worth looking there if you have one in your mall....You could call first and ask--they are usually pretty good at customer service. Good luck and have fun at Disney World!

Thanks, Ann! I have never tried Chicos. Unfortunately, we don't have one at our mall. No Nordstrom's, either. I'm basically restricted to Macy's, Kohl's, JC Penney, The Gap, and Old Navy.

Thanks, Sarah! I will have to try the Gap ones. They seem to be just what I'm looking for, so I hope they have them in the store. The Old Navy ones I looked at the last time I was shopping, but the rise was a little too low for me.

Try Bermudas by the Halogen and Kut brand at Nordies. In my book one of the best cut Bermuda shorts out there at the moment.

Thanks, Angie! I saw those in the store, so I will have to try them. Unfortunately, I don't have time to order them for this trip, as no Nordies nearby.

really Angie? . I have both (the Kut and Halogen) in my closet and wasn't thrilled with the fit of either of them in any size on me. And the white Halogen were so sheer you could see the pockets through the back.....
I'll try them all on again and maybe post some pictures for feedback.

I have Old Navy and Mossimo Supply from Target that fit great and don't break the bank. I suppose they are lower rise at about 8 or 8.5 inches but certainly not so low you can't bend over or sit down without wardrobe malfunctions!

Gloria Vanderbilt has some really cute Bermudas and are generally carried at JCP and Kohls....have a great trip!

No recommendations but I'm hoping you find something comfortable and have a wonderful trip. Maybe you can do some shopping in Florida and have more options.

The Chico shorts are great for comfort and the white ones are not thin. I bought 2 cargo skirts from Chicos that are great. One white and a brown zebra cargo skirt. Have a great time.

GAP and J.Crew have nice ones. Old Navy and Target are great recommendations, too! Have a blast at Disney!

I got some long shorts at Kohls this past month. They are very plain, closely fitted and reach all the way to above my knee. I got them in khaki and in black. I like them but haven't had a chance to wear them yet in all the west coast rain. I think they are about $18 there, but I found them as a BO/GO. Enjoy your trip! L.

There is a Nordstrom and a Chicos at the "Mall of Millenia" in Orlando. Of I-4 between downtown Orlando and Disney World. Closer to Disney there are several large Outlet Malls with all kinds of stores to choose from.

ooops, the Nordstrom Rack is near the Mall at Millenia in one of the shops down the road from the mall. The regular Nordstrom is at the "Florida Mall" located between the airport and Disney.

Thanks for all the recommendations, ladies. The Gap was a bust - no shorts in the store except short-shorts, so I am off to Kohl's and Target next!

Not sure if you found any shorts yet, but just saw this mornings ads--both Sears and Kohls had bermudas in their ads. Hope you find some for that Disney trip!

I have shorts! Found at Target (thanks for the recs!). in camel, black, and stuffed olive. I may get the white online, I love them that much. The fabric is very nice (and hopefully still will be after a wash), and the leg is slim fitting but not tight.

Now if only I could find tops to go with them! I really want sleeveless, and they are so hard to find, especially in a woven fabric or a knit with some heft to it. All I can find is skimpy little tank tops.
