Hi all, I am a long-time reader, however I do not post very often. I am seeking advice regarding a new handbag.

I have dark brown/black hair and I tend to wear a lot of black/nuetrals, especially in the fall/winter months. My shoes include black, dark brown, nude, sand and leopard print. This particular handbag is going to be an investment piece for my wardrobe, and I just want to make sure I am considering everything before purchasing. Do you think the color of the handbag will work if I tend to wear alot of black? Can this bag be carried in all four seasons? Thank you for reading and any advice.

A woman that I work with was gifted a Louis Vuitton tote for Christmas.

It is beyond gorgeous in person. She is blond but wears dark colors. It certainly goes with every single thing she wears. It can easily be carried all four seasons. She said it will never go out of style.

It is surprisingly robust. By that, I mean it is really well made. The leather and the stitching are marvelous to look at and to touch.

She loves her bag. I love her bag.

Ok! I found it by searching on Speedy 35 Quite a few variations were returned, but regardless, I think it should go with anything. Because of the distinctive pattern, I’d say it’s its own thing!

You can purchase this with a dark handle and strap.

I prefer the dark because the natural leather(vachetta) color will change as the oils from your hands and exposure will change the patina of the exposed leather. something I found I don’t care for. It’s not noticeable on the dark or black handle and strap.

I disliked the vachetta leather aging so much I gave my LV with this away to a friend .

i would consider the dark if I were you . My LV’s with dark and black straps look far better As they age to my eye. And would go well with your black wardrobe items .

Meg, I get a “Link Not Found” message with both your links. If you wear dark shades in the summer, it should work fine in all seasons. I can’t see the bag to see size and how it is carried, but consider that.

IMO, when you buy this kind of bag, it becomes the bag you carry regardless of your outfit. If you love it, go for it!

This would absolutely go with almost everything - an LV bag is a standalone item, in my mind! I like Taylor's idea to get the dark handle, but either would look great with your coloring!

I think it would go with anything you chose to wear, regardless of color, simply because such an iconic item is something of a neutral in and of itself. It is it’s own statement.

Definitely a classic bag that could be worn with anything and everything. I would buy the version with dark handles because I would dislike the wear effect on the lighter coloured handle as Taylor has mentioned.

LV is classic and iconic. IMO it can be a 4 season bag. Perhaps it will become a signature of yours. I prefer the dark straps for the same reasons the other posters mentioned. If your heart sings for the lighter straps, then that is what you should get. Enjoy your new bag!

You can’t go wrong with LV. I carried one for years, and when it was no longer my thing, I sold it for a good price.
