I'm not sure it's "over" per se, but I feel like I'm over it. I had one in the 80's. I tried one on recently and it just didn't look like me. But my style is already so casual. I think a denim vest over a dressier outfit might work, but even then for me it would have to be a tailored denim vest, not the "trucker" style denim vest.

Well, I'm a denim hater. However, denim and denim vests are very much back. Esp. for the teenie beenies. My dd just finished making herself one this weekend. I admit she looks cute.

But I'm still a hater.

I'm getting a lot of use out of that soft white twill vest I ordered a while back. I think it looks nicer than denim, and I can always wear it with jeans if I want to.

I just saw two oversized denim vests at Urban Outfitters. UO tends to be very on-trend, or actually a year or two ahead. For example, years ago they were the first retailer to get BIG TIME into skinny jeans, it was maybe 2004 or 2005.

Denim vests are very much on trend as a layering piece with leather jackets amongst the teenagers at my school. For a cool, urban style, I think it works fine.

my neighbour just commented that i married too young.
when i asked her why she thought so she yells me "Well
you are only 18"
???!!!!!""??!!!!!!!!! So I should look atleast my age right;)

Re the denim vest, I think it is all about how you style it. Use it to dress down a dressy pant, or over a sleek cardigan. That wouldn't look too young at all.

I actually just bought one -- so I'm a fan! Nordstrom's BP department (their trendy junior's dept) has one right now so I think they're still in!
