Denim patterned shorts that aren't so darn short??

I love the patterned denim trend, but every time I see a cute pair of floral denim shorts, they have a 2" inseam. Has anyone seen any that are a bit more modest?

I had two pairs of floral denim shorts back in the 90s that I loved and wore a ton, but I got rid of them as I gained weight over the years. Too bad, because now they would probably fit again, and be totally on trend.

Maybe I'll have to look for some on-sale printed jeans and make cutoffs of them.

Where are you finding cute floral denim shorts at all? I'm short/young enough to pull off a 2" inseam, although I prefer 3", and I've only seen one or two affordable printed denim shorts, none in floral.

I'm just chiming in to bear witness to your plight. I saw you look everywhere during our DC YLF shopping trip with no luck. The only patterned denim shorts out there seem to be Daisy Dukes!

Good luck. Your idea of cutting off a pair of printed jeans might be a good option.

Thanks Janet! I saw the star-printed denim at Nordstrom, but for some reason never thought to look through the other juniors' stuff. Tempted, especially by the AG-esque polka dot skinny jeans. Buy full length or crops printed pants and cut and hem them! You will get just the perfect length.

Janet, my advice is to get some printed crops on sale and get them shortened. I am a huge premium denim nut and I swear, I am familiar with every single pair that come out each season, and I haven't seen one that meets this specification. In fact, I have only seen a few longer denim shorts this year -- a pair from J Brand, one from COH. It's that bad this year!

Piperlime has a huge selection of printed pants with 26-27" inseams (super unflattering length on me). I asked Angie this question and she said this year, compared to last year, has very few knee and below the knee length pants. She said get the crops and shorten them.
