Denim moto?

Hi Team,

I checked out this denim moto from Jag today at lunch time. Not cropped like I was originally thinking I would be looking for in a denim jacket. Quite a nice shape though. I would probably only be intending to wear it open but I've included pics with it partially and fully zipped as well. Ideally I'd like to be able to wear it over dresses, skirts and pants...

What say ye? Yay or nay?

I like it opened best of all. Partially closed it looks like it pulls a little but that could just be the way you're standing. I like it fully closed too.

Shipskitty, I am liking the style but for some reason I feel I want to see you in a darker wash? How did you feel about the light colour?

Karie - it does pull a little when partially closed but that is a common issue for me as I am large busted (particularly now when I am carrying some extra weight). I wouldn't be likely to wear it that way.

Adelfa - Yes mostly I prefer motos open too.

Deborah - To be honest I hadn't thought about the colour too deeply. I was more focused on the shape. It is true I do incline more to darker denim washes as a rule (their 'dressier' look?) . Looking at these photos this morning I can see what you mean and I agree.

Thanks ladies for your input. You are helping me narrow down the PPP version of denim jacket I need.

I agree that a darker wash might be better but this one looks great open and pretty good closed too.

I like it. As far as the color, consider what you're going to wear it with. I actually found that I wear my white and light wash Jean jackets more than my dark wash one, because I wear them a lot with dresses in the summer, a lot of which are bright, and I liked the medium contrast and brightness, whereas the dark wash felt a bit too wintery and dark.

I'm with Deborah on the colour. It's a little here-nor-there. I think you would look great in one with a really strong pigment to the colour.

While I agree that darker might be better, I really like this jacket on you. I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to find a jacket that works as well as this one does as I share some of the same fit issues that you do. So I personally would recommend that you go with the jacket, if you think you will get wear out of it. If a better one comes along that is darker and, as your said, more formal, then perhaps you can have two. I purchased a denim jacket a few months ago that is not as dark a wash as I probably would have preferred, but which fit me well (and I was amazed at that) and was even on sale. I have since worn it many times and I enjoy it every time I wear it.

It's a really nice jacket, but I'm agreeing with the others that the colour/wash isn't perfect. Would it work with the other things in your closet or would it look faded? It seems more 'rough around the edges' than your usual style, so are you comfortable with it? Sometimes I find it's hard to know whether I'm going off on a wrong tangent that isn't 'me' or whether I'm moving my style along.

Hmm lots to think about ladies. It is still pretty early in the season and this jacket has only just been released so I think I have time on my side. I'll keep it in mind and keep looking for now I think.

I agree with Laura that medium wash is better for summer. I love dark, deep colors in general, but I like how my medium wash denim jacket works with my summer things.
