Denim jacket finds

Hi all. I found a few denim jackets online and wanted your input before I move forward in purchasing. Which is the better find?

#1 - ATL petites, a little boxy but cropped, size 2P
#2 - INC petites, with a gathered waist in back - PS
#3 - AMI brand with a gathered waist in the back (has anyone ever tried this brand?) - PS

When I click on the photos, they are just thumbnails so I can't see the options very well. From what I can see, #3 is really original and suits your style. No experience with the brand.

I think you will find #1 the easiest to wear. I've got a similar one that I wish were more cropped but still wear it all the time with both dresses and pants. I've also picked up some other denim jacket styles on consignment to play with, including a blazer. They just are not getting much wear.
Edit: The third one does look like your style.

Oooh, I like #3 too for its more unique and feminine design (from what I can see!). Can you buy two - one classic and one with that mandarin collar?

#1 looks like the very traditional jean jacket style that goes with everything and never goes out of style. #3 is more feminine and fitted, so I guess it really depends on how you want to wear it. #2 seems like an okay style, but I'm not as fond of the lighter colour.

ModGrl - I'm afraid the sleeves of the Levis will be too long for me but I guess I could always roll them up.

As far as wearing these jackets, #3 was my first choice and I'll probably wear the jacket with skirts or dresses more than I would with pants.

Although I tend to agree with the others that #3 looks great - it might be harder to style, depending on what you want to wear it with. I also recently bought a denim blazer from a resale shop but have yet to wear it - I thought it would be more versatile but I end up feeling too 70's or something. I have a more cropped dark wash denim blazer that does seem more versatile, almost dressy (for my lifestyle at least). I also bought a white denim one and am trying to decide to K/R. I hoped I could wear it in spring over sleeveless tees and knits but wondering if I can get away with wearing it with shorts too since springtime here means 90 degree weather.

Hm, my first reaction would be that #3 is too long for dresses. In that case, I vote for #1 - or something even more cropped, even. On me, many "cropped" jackets still hit at my high hip, and if I remember correctly I think you're slightly shorter than i am.

Do they offer free returns? I've found shopping for a denim jacket to be terribly challenging and likely something that involves a lot of trying things on. That said, #1 is my favorite.

I can so see you in #3. That lovely dark edging is hard to see in the thumbnail nevertheless it -and the colour and cut of this jacket - I find all so appealing. The gray of #1 might limit it a bit and I cant comment on #2 as the thumbnali is just a tad too tiny.

#3 is definitely pretty but it has a very specific style so I don't know if it would be as versatile as a regular one. Like Texstyle, I have had a few denim *blazers* that fit great, but I could never get them to feel right with a dress. They were too long, and not enough dress showed for me.
I was in Old Navy today and they have their new denim jackets out. I tried one on and very nearly bought it even though I already have a collarless one. The one I tried on was traditional and had a bit of stretch. I think they were $29.99 but don't quote me. It's worth a try-on it you have one near you.

I like #3 so cute and original. Haven't tried the brand before but give it a once over before you purchase it. Will look great over dresses.

I learned from the "twins" thread that you and I are close in size and shape (AND our coloring is similar and there's a lot of overlap in our style, as well. Not that I'm stalking you....). I wear a cropped, classic denim jacket like #1 really often and find it versatile and super easy to style. That one looks like you could get a lot of wear out of it, and I love the dark wash, too.

#2 is okay, but the lighter color just doesn't do it for me.

Then there's #3. I love it! It's a unique piece and I think it would suit the slightly retro vibe I've gotten from your style.

HOWEVER, I think it all comes down in the end to identifying your objective. If you're trying to fit the denim jacket slot in your wardrobe, use it to toughen up a softer feminine look, pair it with pearls a la Parisian Chic, etc, then #1 is your jacket. But if it's just about a great piece to love, then I feel #3 is more unique and eye-catching. So, what do you need a denim jacket to do for you?
