It's my first time posting pictures here and I may regret it in a few hours but here goes: does this denim blazer/jacket thing work for me?

Seems like it works. Can't tell wear your waist/hip is with the dress on but I like the slight definition your jacket has. Great classic denim color too!

I like the cut of the jacket and I hope you don't regret putting your picture up. You'll learn to enjoy all the help you get here.
If the jacket is new and has tags on it, I might suggest you try a size smaller because it seems a little wide under the arms.
I would love to see more pictures of you in this jacket with different outfits maybe, but mostly to see if it is indeed too big for you. If so there is always the option of having it altered to fit. Angie has a denim jacket that she had altered to be perfect for her, and it is.

I agree with San, it seems a little wide under the arms and maybe a little broad across the shoulder line??? I can't really tell. I really like the interesting detailing though. Maybe you can try taking a few outfit photos?

Thanks for posting a picture! We're glad to have you here. My first thought was that it hit a little too low on the hip so a smaller size might help with that. Otherwise, I like the style of the jacket. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I tend to be very private but after seeing how supportive and positive everyone is, I have decided to jump in and put myself out there. I don't mean to ignore the outfit requests but I haven't given much thought to it. Really, I am that unstylish! I figured I would wear it with my black pants and any sleeveless top.

So, about the jacket, I found it at the NAS.

I tried the smaller size (PS) but it did not fit in the bust and the belly. The sales associate got the alterations person to look at me in the petite medium to see if they could take it a little but she told me that it would involve major effort and was probably not worth the cost. It looks like I'll have to give it a miss.
