K/R Denim jacket #1: shearling meets wasp waist

I mentioned in my Ted Baker thread that I was considering another jacket and this is the one. The shearling collar is a removable overlay on a black collar.

At the moment, I don't own any denim jackets. I am also considering getting a cropped blue denim jacket because of its versatility, but I love the cut, fabric, and style of this one. So fun.

This is a medium, which the SA recommended as my size. There's enough room and mobility in the shoulders and arms to make me happy, but I'm not sure about the bust and waist. I am technically a size small in this brand (shoulders aside) and there is definitely enough room to wear a sweater underneath without bulking up the look. However, it doesn't look big from the photo, so maybe this is the proper size. It also doesn't feel constricting in the least.

I think it's a beautiful jacket but it seems to me that the torso is a bit too short for your lovely figure. You can do better, I hope you don't mind my saying my honest opinion. I also have a long torso and run into fit problems because of that.
I saw the coat you showed before and I thought it was beautiful on you.

Or maybe it's supposed to be like that and I just don't get it...

IMO, -- I don't think it's working on the model, the cut seems to be "off". It seems to work better on you. But and this is a big but, the shape and cut seem to be very specific- and therefor I'm wondering about the role this jacket would play in your wardrobe.

It is really cool, and I want to give it a yay, but it does seem short. Perhaps try it with some higher waisted jeans or pants, or with a dress or skirt?

I've found these fitted, flared jackets so tricky in the past -- it's a really specific look, and you need to be into it.

I agree with Janet - the way it is hitting right at the waistband of the jeans might not be the ideal proportions for this jacket. Please try with higher jeans or perhaps a pencil skirt, I would love to see the effect!
