I very much understand that sleeveless dresses are intended to be worn without a topper; there is no doubt they look better that way. However, I am considering a denim dress for spring/summer/fall, and while I would mostly wear it without one, I'd like a topper to wear it to work. It isn't that I can't wear sleeveless to work; I just prefer being more modest there.
The problem is that I've just recently discovered how fab a denim jacket is, but I cannot wear that with a denim dress. I don't want anything too rustic or country-leaning. I'm afraid that cardigans would be too warm while sheerer toppers simply wouldn't go with the more rugged fabric. I've attached a small picture of a similar dress. What would you wear as an occasional topper with it?
