OMG !! How absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to show my kids when they get home. Thank you so much for posting them.

We are going on a four day camping trip to the Cape. Haha...with a grocery store right down the street. Could it be any less like yours ? Could the Cape be any more populated in the Summer ? LOL ! Maybe we will spot a coyote. I am going to try paddleboarding, Una. Stay tuned.

Did I ever tell you that J. spent a summer in law school in Anchorage (working at the supreme court)? I've always regretted not flying out to visit him that summer, and we keep talking about how we need to take a vacation in Alaska.

DH and I did an Alaskan cruise a few years ago and it was the best vacation ever - even better than the Caribbean trips we've been on - because the scenery is so spectacular. Your photos are gorgeous and it makes me want to go there again!

Isabel, you should try paddleboarding - you'll love it!

Let me just say that any Fabbers are welcome, any time! I will even take you "shopping", for what it's worth.

Isabel, paddleboarding is great for the abs but really hard in the ocean. We did it in Hawai'i. My DH's family lives down the Cape, as they say, and yes it is absolutely nuts in summer. Route 3? No thanks! We will be there in July/August in case there is any chance of a meet-up (Diana?!)

Diana, who did your husband clerk for? I guarantee I will know someone who knows him somehow, or maybe WE know him!

Una, I don't think he worked for a particular judge, but kind of did stuff for all of them as far as I can tell. It was a weird unpaid internship sort of thing, so not a real clerkship. It was summer of '09 (right around when nobody could find a law job... when he was told to broaden his search from Boston he said, "so you mean, New York?" and ended up in Anchorage, LOL.)

He does not know who you are. I already asked.

And yes! July/August meetup! How fun would a Cape meetup be?!?

Fantastic! Thank you for sharing. It looks like the summer after next, my husband and I are planning on a big RV trip to Alaska. We're talking 3-4 months. We are so excited! I'll have to make sure we schedule a meetup with you when we visit.

Oh, yay Janet! I can give you tons of advice, but the other thing to do is pick up the most recent copy of the Milepost when you are ready to hit the road.

Also, we found out that professional photographers can get special licenses to drive the road in Denali National Park (instead of taking the park buses), so you might look into that.

I actually have a series of shots of the ground squirrel - he had so much personality. My son was stalking him and he came around from behind like they were playing a game of tag. Totally hilarious! And this was not because he was used to people, as we were way up on a peak. They are just funny little guys! Totally reminded me of this video:

How are the mosquitoes and other flying things? This is what make summer outdoor trips hard for me - I prefer fall much more!
