This is just disgusting.

Disgusting and even sick. As in the twisted mind that thought that was a good idea needs help. I don't think I want to give up my vintage designer clothing due to the callousness of the current generation, but this does give me pause.

Evil. Not sure what the right word is. Thank you for bringing this to my attention Sterling. Not that I buy designer clothing but I want to be aware of what is going on in the fashion world. And thank you Echo for making me aware of the Zara and H & M clothing evilness. I don't watch TV, etc. so miss all these things. Well, I don't miss them.

Even more, I am going to be careful about where I buy my clothing.

Echo -- I missed the stories about the lower end retail stores like Zara and H&M. Thank you for bringing them to my attention.

thank you Echo for saying so nicely what i thought as i clicked thru Sterling link....fashion at all levels has been egregious....

This came up in my newsfeed yesterday as well. Abhorrent. But what really gets me is that nowhere along the chain of command did anyone put their foot down and refuse or question whether this should go to market. I'm amazed there's no one in the fashion industry leaking these designs before they're released. Makes me think of Hannah Arendt's "banality of evil": atrocities happen when we all keep our heads down, as if getting the job done and selling the product matter more than being on the right side of history.

Holy crap... That had to be intentional...

Appalling and disgusting. As others have said, the most discouraging part of this is that there must be a market for it. If I saw someone wearing this, I would instantly form a lot of conclusions about her, and none of them would be positive.

Horrible, absolutely horrible. That anyone would even design such a thing is disgusting.

I really do not understand these attitudes or motivations of the designers who make products like this. Stella McCartney is a bit of a beacon in the design world for her ethics..

Bijou, GOOD POINT about Stella McCartney. Thank you. I needed to hear that again.

Don't anyone in those companies have the slightest knowledge of such subjects as history, society, human dignity, and consideration of other people's feelings? Who do they think they are? And, more important, who do they think WE are?

This is appalling beyond words.
