Ok. I've been thinking and thinking, and I think I just hate the yellow that's on the walls. I think I will bite the bullet and paint...and paint the rooms the same colour. The new question is, should I give up green? When I've had my choice, I've always had basically some sort of green. But maybe it's a rut after some 30, 40 years...

I would paint over the yellow first then see how the green relates. It may surprise you.

A pale green is pretty easy to live with. But if you feel you're in a rut, go a little crazy ... it's just paint.

Oh what to paint over the yellow?! It's so easy to just 'green' and start looking for one. But I'm toying with the idea of grey. Maybe grey, off white, and red. I've seen some beautiful rooms in this scheme.

But I must say, I don't know about red. I don't mind startling colour, but I don't know that I like energetic colour. I actually dream of covering everything in the same pattern - walls, curtains, upholstery. But one should not do that to 100 yr old plasterwork...

How To Hang Fabric as Wallpaper
Applying fabric to a wall with liquid starch is a great solution for renters and commitment-phobes alike. A bit time intensive, yes, but the results are just about as good as it gets.

Your yellow-flowered fabric might make a lovely wall accent.

Oh, would I ever be so daring as to put liquid starch on the walls? Lol. Might have to wait for my mum to go into a senior home...that would be killer tho.

I'm looking at pictures. I have granny taste, but my reality is madcap eclecticism - every quiz I've taken so far says so. And I'm sooo drawn to green. It's all familiar and comfortable...prob like a grungy moth-eaten sweater.
