Decisions, decisions: Colorblocked dress

I went to the mall to go shopping for my mom, but ended up seeing the last one of this dress on the rack. It happened to be my size and I thought "hmm, I'll just try it on" ... now I wish I never saw it. The fit is divine and is quite flattering to my shapelessness. I am sucking in a bit in the pictures, though!

I'm really torn because it's not cheap and I don't know if I will wear it enough to justify the cost. Ladies, please help me decide! Much appreciated from a tortured soul.

It looks like it is pulling a bit at the bust on your right side.

Would this be appropriate for work? If so, and you will wear it regularly, I think it would be a versatile piece for you.

As for sucking it in, if it requires shapewear or herculean efforts to keep the line, then I say pass.

Oh my gosh, this is stunning on you. Do you work in an office enviroment, or would your only opportunities to wear it be for going out? If it's possible to wear to work with a blazer, or if you have a few going out opportunities per year, I say definitely yes.

It does appear to be pulling in the bust on the right side. That - along with the possible need for shapewear - would make me pass on this one. It is a pretty dress though!

Very flattering. Unless that's a fixable wrinkle at the bustline, I would pass and determine to look for another dress that feels as wonderful but is perfect for you in fit and also practicality for where you would be wearing it. Take away the great feeling of this dress and swear to repeat it. Leave the dress.

I have a similar one and I wear it a look, on winter I wear a black top under the dree, black opaque tights and boots.

So, I think it looks fab. But do you feel fab? Are you willing to wear it and not suck it in? I think shapewear is evil, so I wouldn;t even think of it as an option. Others do wear it though.

Do you love it?

If so, AND it is in budget, and you are comfortable you will wear it often, get it.

I sense a lot of hesitation on your part, and that leads me to think you should pass.

The wrinkle is just rushed photography; it doesn't pull in real life. I think sucking in has become an unconscious habit for me

I have several occasions that call for wearing something like this, but it's not an everyday look for me.

Do you have suitable footwear and jacket/topper - or will you have to make additional purchases? Sometimes it's a slippery slope....

It's a lovely dress. If you need a dress, I vote yes! And even if you just *want* a dress and it's not going to break the budget, I vote yes.

I love it on you. It's nice to have a fab dress in your wardrobe & I think you could find ways to wear this that would make it more casual too

I think it's only a problem if for an imaginary lifestyle. I have sometimes collected things for that. As in, do you have similar dresses you're never wearing/ you like them in theory but never reach for them.
