I've been eluding to the major overhaul I've had to perform on my fall wardrobe, and now I figure it's time to start posting my purchases for assessment from the people who remain my best and most constructive style consultants.
Weight gain was the depressing impetus for this latest round of shopping, and fluid fits were its salvation. It felt wonderful to embrace looser, more camouflaging cuts at a time when my weight has reached an all-time high and struck up an inverse relationship with my confidence level.
I'll be rolling out my new purchases over the next few days, but the pics below reveal a few:
Pics 1 and 2 show:
black cigarette pants that can be rolled due to their excess length (a genuine novelty for tall girls)!
A red high-low blouse whose features I have a hard time describing
My Mayle Club Monaco black and gold clutch
My Munro Robyn booties. I bought the black versions last year and loved them so much that I ordered the Cranberry suede incarnation, which will hopefully arrive today.
And finally, in pics 3 and 4, I show my William Rast faux leather jacket, both open and closed.
Please weigh in on all these pieces.
Bonus look: for those who didn't see the rather buried picture of my new silky track pants, they're in pic number 5. I styled them with a new Foxcroft buttondown that gapes too much and needs to be covered to be presentable. The perfect excuse to break out a sequined tank I bought a couple of years ago and test-drive Angie's shell-over-shirt look. Shoes and jewelry are both old.
Looking forward to your feedback, ladies. And be warned - there's more where all this came from!
