Dani, have you tried Target? They have oodles on their web site, most under $50 and the ones I checked were washable. I've posted a few links below but am not sure if they'll work.

Hmm...what would you say is moderately priced? I've found some that might work, but I'm not sure if they are in your price range or not. Also, historically I haven't ever been a big dress wearer, but now I find that I am addicted to them in this heat, and wear them quite often. I know you're in a warm climate as well. Even if you spend a little more on a dress, you might find you get your money's worth:

Dani, if you have ever tried Espirit, they have a TON of cotton jersey dresses: many are on sale! I don't have a link, but if you go to http://www.espiritshop.com and type "jersey dress" in the search box, you get several options!

Thanks everyone for the searches and responses. You guys are great to go looking for dresses for someone you only know online

I checked in quickly this morning to see what suggestions everyone had and then headed on my way. I only had time to hit Macy's and ATL, but I'm considering ordering some of the Nordies offerings.

Here's what I found:

This is ATL and I would have to wear it with a cardigan. It's a spaghetti strap sundress with ditsy floral patern:

This is one Ana linked to, but I'm kind of at a loss as to shoes to wear with it. Hmmm, it looked better in person I thought, oh well:

Hi Dani! My favorite is the shirtdress - it's the shortest dress, but I like where it hits your leg. If it's too short for your comfort, though, it will need to go. If you feel uncomfortable, people will pick that vibe up from you. The shoulders have good structure, and I think it looks slimming! It would be really fun to pop some of your turquoise shoes on, or add any bright or saturated color. A shirt dress would be fine to wear out with the kids or out to dinner.
My second fave is the brown dress - it has a unique neckline and has really pretty tailoring on you! It doesn't seem as casual to me as the others, but again, you could really dress this up if you wanted.
The ATL dress is very cute, and I like the necklace you put with it. You could try another color of shoes or add a clutch for a slightly different look too!

Hi Dani!

I'm glad you found some options. This is what I think:

I like the ditsy floral. The pattern is not my favorite, but it looks fresh with the citron cami and I like how you've accessorised it.

I like the brown dress, too. It does make you look a little bit bustier than the others do, but this piece might be versatile because it is a little more dressy, but you could dress it down with shoes like these (I'm thinking the gold would be nice) a straw bag, and a white cardi:

The shirt dress is a nice fit on you. Is the belt removable? If so, I would replace it with a more structured belt, and maybe unbutton it further, and layer a colorful cami that peeks out underneath.

I really like the shirtdress. I don't think it's too short. I am partial to shirtdresses, though, and I am not sure if you were after a more casual look... but I think it looks great!

Brown dress is my second. Since it's pretty subdued you could wear it with shoes of any bright color. The floral dress it's pretty and goes well with yellow and turquoise, but it looks a little girly to me. Maybe since you're tall it could work.

I also like the first Kohl dress Kyle linked to. Seems very versatile and yet simple.

FWIW, I do not think it's too short at all. If it were longer, it would look matronly.

I like the first, "ditzy floral" with the cardi. But if that is the only way you can wear it, because of the spagetti straps, then that will limit it's wearability.

I did not care for the brown one. The banding just under the bust and at the split neck was distracting.

I love the orange shoes with the shirt dress though. I was in Marshalls yesterday and saw your red flats. I immediately thought of you. I must admit that I even quickly tried them on in your honor. Even though I had no intention of buying any shoes! I just wanted to see what it felt like to be in your shoes for a moment.

I really liked the shirtdress and the ditsy floral. Depending on what my husband says I might keep both even though I'm somewhat limited by the spaghetti straps. I just think that dress screams summer. I will play with a different belt on the shirtdress and see what I come up with. The best thing is it was only $45 and washable! It's definitely a keeper.

Dani, I second Nicole's opinions: The shirtdress is perfect on you and not too short at all, the ditsy floral was a nice summertime look, and I wasn't crazy about the brown. I thought it made you look a bit hippy or something.

Dani, I just bought this dress in the orange and white. They are out of a lot of sizes in that color, but they have black and white in stock. It does have sort of a bold print, but it's only 2 colors. I don't like prints much either, but these were very graphic and interesting. It's also machine washable:

Ana, I had already looked at that when you posted it on another thread It's so cute and completely my style but I had some concerns about the empire banding (I sometimes have trouble with that cut) and with the circle neck as strapless bras are not really an option for me. Does it run small? I might be able to get by with one of the sizes left.

It does run small, Dani. I usually wear an 8 in dresses, and I am a firm 10 in this one. Unfortunately, a strapless bra is a must if you are going to wear it without a cardigan. The empire banding holds it up nicely, though. Oh--well, wait a minute. You know, you could probably wear a convertible bra with a clear "halter" strap. Does that make sense?
