David Bowie legend!

I love/d David Bowie and his music. To the point of dragging myself to his concert 8mths pregnant. More recently I saw the retrospective at the London V&A as did other fabbers. It was great to see his costumes etc as well. Yes, look up at the stars - he is up there. I believe he posted a billboard with that message in London just a few days ago....

I was never a real David Bowie fan, but was shocked, nevertheless, by the news of his death. A legend, indeed.

I'm a huge fan, ever since my older sister brought home the album "Heroes" when I was about ten. And not only for his music, but his style too. One of the first garments I made for myself was a pair of very baggy pleated pants, which I always called my David Bowie trousers.

I saw this somewhere else today:
"I think a good tribute to David Bowie would be if we all aged well, with grace and dignity, and in excellent pants.'

I've got my gold pants on, and listening to his final release, out only two days ago. He left us in the best way possible.

I didn't know that David Bowie had been struggling with Cancer for 18 months. Very sad. The music world has lost an unforgettable legend.

He was someone I listened to in my teen years listening to some of his popular songs like Heroes, China Girl, Rebel Rebel, and Let's Dance. He will be missed. RIP!

Brazilian musician Seu Jorge has an acoustic guitar album of David Bowie songs (from the movie The Life Aquatic -- with lyrics in Portuguese). Bowie's melodies speak for themselves.

Really sad news, I was so bummed to read it this morning. I always appreciated how he continued to reinvent himself, and didn't fear getting older, unlike a lot of other rock stars. A great lesson to remember.

Sad, sad news. I had no idea that he was ill. My teen years were heavily influenced by Bowie in style and music. Preferred his earlier music to the later MTV stuff, but he influenced just about everyone in some way.

I'm a big fan, and I'm still processing this news. I woke up in the wee hours and since it was taking me a while to go back to sleep, I looked at my phone, only to see the news. Suffice to say I found it even harder to get back to sleep after that. I'm glad I'm not working at the radio station today because I would be crying on the air.

Everywhere I've been all week --the hipster breakfast joint, the university student union, the chain grocery store, the corner bakery, the bar where our book club met last night-- everyone is playing his music. The music makes me feel a little better. That so many of us play Bowie makes me feel a little better about us humans.
