Date outfits - YouLookFab Forum

Two looks I am considering for a date this weekend. During the day, we will be at an apple festival, eating festival food rather than going out to dinner. At night, we will go to a haunted house.

The weather will be unusually warm for this time of year, near 80 degrees, like summer. Nights get chilly even when the days are warm, but since more time will be spent during the day I will deal with the nighttime chill.

Here's a bit of a conundrum: He has only seen me in a skirt or dress so far, though he is not complaining LOL, so this may be the last opportunity for months to wear shorts on a date. On the other hand, for me, I'd prefer to wear the skirt. This also maybe the last chance i get to wear a skirt bare-legged until Spring, as well. Skirts are what I enjoy wearing the most, so I'd like to communicate that to him, as well, non-verbally. I don't think he will mind either way, but I'd be interested in the community's thoughts on that, as well.

All pieces in the photographs are exactly what I own or nearly
identical. Additionally, I am height and weight proportional, 5'4", and
my hair is brownish blonde, about halfway down my back.

What is your pick?

I vote skirt simply because I think it’s more comfortable. And hey, building a relationship is all about being comfortable, lol.

I like the skirt version better too. As long you feel comfortable doing all the activities you guys planned in the skirt, I think it will work great.

What Becky said. The skirt invites an intimacy that shorts do not. What do you want to happen with this date?

Skirt. If you are most comfortable in a skirt and you are able to do all the activities in a skirt then that would be my pick. Cute theme tee and socks.

I wore the skirt (outfit #1). Once again, the date went quite well, and he liked the outfit (as he always had). The day went way too fast.

Joy: I wasn't looking for anything specific to happen, just wanted to look nice, was undecided on how I wanted him to see me. He actually made a comment to me that I must like wearing skirts, and I told him that I did. He said that he likes them, too ;-). In general, I'd like to get a kiss, but he already said that he is a little slow with that, and that is okay. He is wonderful so I'm not going to push.

Becky & Style Fan: I actually wear biker shorts under a skirt to a haunted house. Because they're so form fitting they don't ruin the look of the skirt. That's why I don't have to be afraid to wear a skirt to a haunted house.

Rachylou: I like the logic you expressed. I do feel more comfortable in a skirt than in shorts; I feel more feminine, and even in a casual skirt I feel somewhat classy.

Wear what you like best, feeling good is the main thing. Both are very cute outfits and so appropriate for what you have planned. Will it be colder in the evening? I would add a denim or leather jacket for warmth.
