Date night outfits - YouLookFab Forum

I am considering two outfits for a date this weekend. We met in person a few days ago at Starbucks, though this is our first actual date. The date will be miniature golf, and dinner at a restaurant that can be dressy or can be casual, given his description. I think he will be dressed in the middle somewhere.

The photos are nearly identical to the exact outfits I am considering. Additionally, I am height and weight proportional, 5'4", and may hair is brownish blonde, about halfway down my back.

Outfit #1: Dressy button front white ruffle blouse, denim skirt that comes to a few inches above my knees, bare legs, and brown cowgirl boots.

Outfit #2: Same denim skirt as above, but with a less dressy white and navy blue striped pullover blouse, bare legs, and nude wedge espadrille sandals.

Just wanted to ask your thoughts.

Both outfits are very cute date night looks. The shoes are tough because the boots seem like a better choice for minature golf but the platforms might be better for dinner. If I had to pick, I would go with outfit 1. I grew up in the south where people wore cowboys everywhere including weddings and funerals.

I think second option will be better for a date night, because i will never recommend high boots for a date night.

well...when i think of mini golf, i think of summer and the beach...so for me #2....but either would work.

I agree on outfit one.

But... make sure the skirt doesn't ride up too much when you putt in minigolf. If it were me, I'd want to be able to bend, squat, etc, but then I'm competitive. You may not feel so competitive on a date. Have fun!

They are both really cute. I say wear what you are most comfortable in. Sorry that was not too helpful.

I asked my husband his opinion though just for fun. He says #2 might be better for a first date because cowboy boots are sometimes very style defining, and if you don’t know each other well it might make it look like you know a lot about country music, etc. If you actually do know a lot about country, then maybe it would be different though.

Both are really cute. I am a big cowboy boot fan, but I get what Alicewonderland is saying — they are a bit more of a statement. If you feel like this is a person who will appreciate that vibe, go for that option. Although first and foremost I think you should choose whatever makes you feel the most fab and confident. My outfit went over well. He said I looked awesome.

Even though the opinions were about evenly split, you were all quite helpful. I actually decided on a third version, in the attached photograph, partly based upon

Alice's and Janet's comments. Yes, I was trying to make a statement, as I often do, with the cowgirl boots and the denim skirt together in this case, but it made sense that a first date is probably not the best time to do so.

BTW, my date wore a white short sleeve button down shirt, beige khaki shorts, and tan boat shoes. I think he looked awesome himself.

This is a fun forum. I may be posting here again.
