Dansko sizing quality control

I ordered the clogs below on deep discount, then read a review describing how she had to order a second pair to find a better fit. Then I remembered my first and best fitting Dansko Pros. I tried on at least six pairs to find the left and right sides that fit best. So I ordered another two pairs. All three pairs were delivered today. The original pair hurt. I am keeping the left from the second pair and the right from the third pair. I am now a happy camper! Seems ridiculous that I have to do this however.

My DSIL does this all the time. She asks the SA in shoes to bring her all of the shoes they have in back in her chosen style and size, then tried them all to find the left and right shoe with the best fit. She has a narrow foot but needs a wide toe box, so sometimes rejects all the shoes, which embarrasses me and I feel sorry for the SA.

I wear Danskos, but not their clogs. For their sandals and boots, every pair I have is the same size. I even have a pair of Dansko walking shoes, and they’re the same size. For some reason, the clogs don’t fit the same, so I wear Alegría.

I have a pair of Dansko open back clogs in blue that rub my pinkie toe. I assumed this was because of its having been broken, but maybe the problem you describe is the culprit.

Do the closed back ones fit the same as the open back ones?

Yes, that’s a bit crazy... but quality control is harder to achieve than one would think, what with so much automation in the world. We make thousands of chocolate croissants, right, at the bakery... you should see how many wacky unusable chocolate batons come in a box... pounds and pounds! Do not make me talk about plastic bags... sometimes thin, sometimes thick, seams all over the place!

I stopped wearing Danskos when the separated from Sanitas. Sanitas used to make their footbed, but Dansko shifted their manufacturing to China. They didn't fit me anymore
Sanitas are still made in Europe

I love my Sanitas and Danskos. My most recent pair of Sanitas are probably going to be consigned, however as they are just a skosh short and after a day's wearing, my toes feel beat up. I feel Sanitas are just a bit narrower than Danskos (I have to buy them in narrow).

How wide were the Danskos before? I wear a D width and all of my Danskos fit perfectly. The problem I have with the Dansko clogs is the instep, not the length or width. My problem feet love the Dansko footbed. It’s what my doctor recommended, and she was right.

I had the same thing.
I lusted after the black patent professional clogs,
just.couldn't.find a pair that fit me the same on both feet.
there was a marked difference in the sizes between the feet, and my feet are not that different

I gave up and am content with the pairs I have
also tried same with Sanita

I called Sanita, and they told me their shoes are narrower than Dansko. For that reason alone, I have never tried them. All of my Danskos fit the same, and I'm quite happy. And it's not like my feet aren't different. My left foot is a little longer than my right foot, so I buy my shoes to fit the left foot.

BC: You’re right; Dansko non-clogs seem to fit more consistently. For me, that tends to mean not at all for one reason or another.

JAileen: The only backless Dansko clogs I have tried were not the Pro style. I ended up returning them because I kept kicking them off.

annagybe, Nebraskakim and BC: I have avoided Sanitas because I heard they run narrower than Danskos and I need all the width I can get.

Angie: Normally I don’t like to buy shoes this way but with my foot pain so great I really should. Dansko Pro leather is so stiff it doesn’t really give but my feet really like the foot bed probably more than anything else.
