Good topic! I have searched for that topic on this forum before, so I'm glad you asked. I know the love for Danskos!
I love Danskos for comfort too. I wouldn't get rid of your clogs altogether, just decide when to wear these very casual shoes ... like with casual bootcut jeans which keep the shoe mostly covered. I kept my Dansko mary janes as my "at-home" shoes, as I mostly wear them only at home now, as I walk around doing household chores, homeschooling, etc. My feet seem to need shoes for comfort all day long. I cannot go barefoot or in socks while at home. My feet just start to ache if I do.
I have found Clark's Artisan line is very comfortable, and I gave up a clunky Dansko sandal (worn during pregnancy) for a lovely Clark's wedge. Oh, how feminine it made me feel! I have Born boots (with short heel) for skirts, which I absolutely love. They are definitely 8 hour boots. I have Sofft pumps which are also quite comfortable. I do have a pair of Keen mary janes (they are lower profile than most of the keens), and I wear them as my "fashion sneaker" with jeans, to the park with the kids, grocery shopping, etc.
As I'm typing, I see that most of my best shoes are for dressing up or very casual so I guess I need to find another smart casual shoe for winter.
