Cute or ugly?

I ordered these Superga sneakers during the Nordstrom half yearly sale (still catching up since I was away) and I can't decide if they're cute or just weird looking. What do you think?

Cute! How were you planning to wear them? Casual with jeans, shorts, capris, or with dresses? I think they can work.

I think that it depends on your style. How are you planning on wearing them? Just looking at them without being styled in an outfit - I'm not really feeling it, KWIM? Can you try them without socks?

Hmm. I am leaning toward return since I'm not convinced. I think the color would be fine but there's something about the shape that seems a little off. I'd likely wear them with jeans and maybe casual shorts so the socks shouldn't be a big thing. (Do people actually wear sneakers without socks? Sounds like a recipe for blisters to me...)

I wear sneakers without socks half the year. I even have a pair of perforated leather ones. In spring & fall thin low socks that don't show help keep the feet warm. However, I don't run or jog with no socks. I do walk 2 or 3 miles or more. No blisters ever.
I think the shape is cute but not sure about the color, unless it goes well with your wardrobe

Like the style, but an undecided on the color. Of course, I have a deep distrust of tan in general, and I never met a jewel tone I didn't love, so consider the source!

Hmmmm, I think the color would be difficult to style, at least for me. Us I am uniquely distrustful of tan. Such a tricky color for me! Lack, and I would say yes in a heartbeat!

I like them, personally. If they were a bargain, they might be a good way to see if you like wearing sneakers.
My bias: I just bought these, which look pretty similar. Mine are the color called "grigio," which is an olive gray--a perfect neutral to go with lots of my clothes.
To me, the neutral color of yours (and mine) gives the sneaker a little edge.
Sounds like it might be more the look or feel of the shoe on your foot than the style itself; maybe you're wanting a sneaker but not this one?

I find them cute but I would need to see how they fit your wardrobe.

I ALWAYS wear socks with sneakers (or with any closed shoe) but I have recently discovered socks like these (http://image.dhgate.com/albu_3.....hallow.jpg) which keep the feet from sweating but are invisible. I got mine at H&M.

I think they could work - I love the Manrepeller pic in the white with the tan sneakers... I am thinking though that maybe the colour tan is one of those things that could be fab or frumpy depending on your personal style.

I wear my sneaker with normal or low cut ankle socks if I am wearing them with jeans and ankle is not visible. If my leg is visible in anyway, then I wear them with secret socks or no socks (but I try not to do that for extended periods because I don't want smelly sneakers.

They are what they are.Sneakers and they look great without socks - but wear sockets that cannot be seen: with capris, shorts and rolled up jeans. They are modern classics in my mind.

Hmm, I'm divided too. I agree that the style and color of these can be a challenge depending on your style. I am not big on beige, so take my opinion on the color with a grain of salt, but I feel like a more distinctive color ups the cool factor a bit. I have Cons in grey and a dark maroon-purple, and both of those colors play well with my wardrobe. I never wear socks with them unless I'm wearing full-length jeans rolled down to hide the socks -- socks kinda take away the casual cool factor of these kinds of shoes and push them into "sensible" looking territory, IMHO.

Can we see them styled?

They are actually a medium olive, but the color didn't translate well in the photos apparently. I am still thinking return, but haven't done so yet. I've got one pair of raspberry sneakers I wear with jeans on the weekend, I'd just like to have another pair, but it's not urgent since I'm usually in sandals on the weekends in summer.

I didn't mean to be snarky about the sock thing - I wear ballet flats and of course sandals without socks all the time, but always got blisters when I tried it with sneakers or oxfords so I haven't tried it In years. (Usually wearing them with full length pants so it doesn't matter.) Those noshow socks always seem to roll down uncomfortably on me, maybe because I have big feet.

I have a similarly colored sneaker-like Dansko Vedas that I bought as low contrast shoes to wear with my jeans skirts and other summer wear so I guess I am a bit biased. My leg color is closer to taupe/olive than pink, however! Why don't you try the shoes with a few more things to see what you think?

I am a big fan of SmartWool invisible socks, both the ones cut low enough for oxfords and the ones cut low enough for ballet flats. They come in three sizes, and I've never had a problem with them rolling down. I am at the top end of my size or maybe even between sizes.
