Yay for more diverse models, who come in different ages, shapes and sizes. In Australia, the average women is an Australian size 14, which is a US size 10. However most models would be an Australian Size 6, US size 2 and significantly taller than the average woman.

Barbie feet is news to me, but undermines the point of using plus size models, such a shame the industry treats these girls this way.

Thank you ALL your thoughts, to which I nodded along with wholeheartedly too.

Barbie feet cracks me up. Never heard of it. HAH.

Avamariah, petite items being modeled on 5ft 10 models is quite laughable

Vildy and Joy, RIGHT. The fashion industry shouldn't have to call out that they are doing plus sizes or showcasing models who are middle aged. It should just happen - and be "normal".

La Ped, there are many models with low volume feet wearing sandals that are too wide. Boots that gape at the ankle and knees....and the list goes on. I hear you.

Knitting Gene, Barbara Diane, Jenn, Windchime and Style Fan, thank you for your gracious comments.

IMPORTANT: I would like to clarify that in Nordstrom's case - "extended sizes" means BOTH ends of the size spectrum - not just plus. So they are adding size 0, 00 and XXS, and adding onto petites too. As someone is can be sized out of a size 0 or XS unless the fit is narrow - I'm very pleased.

Hooray for diverse models! Boo for limited styling!

Was happy to notice today many of the women modeling the extended sizes on Madewell's site were wearing flats - not all of them, but many!

Diverse models and extended sizes are a big win! I enjoy seeing you include everyone in your posts. Hopefully shoes styling will follow along.
