Recently unpacked in a new house, and was pleased by my coherent, curated closet. A career change (medical field to full time mom/care -giver) downsizing, and cross-country move have helped to winnow my wardrobe and allowed me to focus new purchases around what fits my life style.
I was amused to see such a coherent color story, dark blues - navy, ink, indigo; dark greens, and dark rusty tones, with some lighter, brighter tons and patterns brought in by scarves, with many fewer clothes than I’ve had in the past.
The dresser - not shown- has tees/tops in burgundy, ink & black, sweaters in brown, red and green, and pants in toffee, olive, and medium wash denim.
Seeing my closet makes me more committed to staying within my “deep autumn” color palette.
I think there’s space for some more burgundy and olive pieces, and as the seasons change I’ll think about adding in tops in a warm rose or mustard if I can find them, in addition to adding some more patterns.
I plan to replace the flower patterned button down (which just looks white in the photo) with a breezy linen shirt within my color palette.
I’m keeping an eye out for a well-fitting pair of dark wash straight or barrel leg jeans and a pair of wide leg chinos in a toffee or even slate gray shade.
Overall though, am currently happy with my more minimal wardrobe.
