Hello everyone,
I am on Summer hols, and doing some culling
1. my wardrobe (minus coats, a few items in the wash and a few winters items put away). Only 40 items! I wish 5 extra could go back there though from the holding zone, as they are things that are currently too small
2 A cardi I am trying to decide whether to keep. Unworn I think. It fits well. Thoughts?
3 An ancient dress (c2000) - worn here for DD's family birthday party and for church. I may have asked about this dress before. I think I was keeping it to wear at home but end up still wearing out sometimes. Good in heat, though not extreme heat. I think the style is flattering but is it dated? Also has a hole under one armpit, though probably could mend that, but have a feeling I have mended it before
4 Bonus extra of necklace in pic 3. DD gave me this for Christmas!

I don't know about the dress being dated as I'm not very good about these things, but it does look nice. And the cardigan is so pretty, why wouldn't you keep it? I love the necklace too, nice pressie!
You are a real minimalist. Did you toss a lot or was it almost like this before? I must say, I'm impressed with your discipline.

Aah! That makes sense. I know we all have different ideas as to what size wardrobe works, but I was thinking that I could never manage with just 40 pieces. Knowing that you also have things in drawers makes me feel that much better! Nice job with the cull, by the way. It's always great to start the new year off with a fresh beginning.

I like the cardigan, but that is coming from my style preference. Yes, it fits well. The dress may not be the most current, but I think it's fine.

I think the dress fits well and seems like a classic style. I would fix that hole and keep wearing it!

The cardi is soft and romantic. I am unsure of your style, so if this fits, I would keep it.

The dress is fab. Fix the hole and keep wearing it.

The dress is a classic overall silhouette, and I like the collar at the neck. I find it takes work to keep older clothing in good condition, but it's worth the work.

The sweater has a very flattering fit and lovely detail. It is more romantic than your typical style. When it gets a bit warmer, I'd encourage you to try styling it with other items in your closet. You look beautiful in white!

The cardi is romantic and fits well. The black dress looks good to, IMO. Fix the hole Lovely necklace. You are a beautiful family.

Looking at your wardrobe pic, can I make a suggestion?
As you have a small closet, I was thinking that a couple of sets of matching padded hangers would space things nicely.
They are kinder to clothes than wire hangers too!

Hello. I think that dress is fantastic on you. You should keep it, unless it's gotten too shabby. I am torn about the cardigan. It's so pretty, but I feel it stretches you out visually.

Lyn D - I do have some padded hangers and quite a few wooden ones. I made sure I was using one after reading your comment. Most of the wire ones are actually modified with cardboard roll stuck on the bottom, to hand pants/ jeans etc on.
Rachylou - I guess you are thinking of the effect of the parallel lines down the front of the cardi?
In light of all your imput I'll keep the dress. I am not really that sure of my style either Thistle, but I'll keep the cardi for now.

Anne your wardrobe looks lovely. For some reason I find looking at clothing hanging uncluttered quite therapeutic lol. I like the cardigan, it's very pretty and I think it's very you. I would keep. I can't see the dress:( Your necklace is just gorgeous. What a lovely gift from DD.

BTW, I may have some skirted leggings for you to try on next week when we met up!!

And skirted leggings!! Really? I thought they were a bust? (SOO looking forward to our meet up!)

Anne they were a bust for me:( I don't know if you saw my post but I ordered a pair from a Korean Fashion Store (they have an Australian outlet). I ended up with two pairs and the quality it ok. But they really are too small for me. I could wear them, but they really are too small. I think they might fit you quite nicely. I will bring them when we meet up next week. Even if they don't work for you, they might work for your older DD??

The cardi is a keeper. I can not see the dress so moving on. The necklace is cute beyond cute. I would love to see it on.
