Cuddle Duds from Amazon: real or counterfeit?

I want a pair of fleece-lined leggings, and thanks to a post by bettycrocker I've figured out that Cuddle Duds are my best bet. I don't live very close to a Walmart, where many people have found them, so I looked them up on Amazon--where the price is attractive compared to the Cuddle Duds official website.
HOWEVER... many reviewers suggest that the Amazon ones look counterfeit, especially reviewers who'd bought a first pair elsewhere (with a few saying they also look secondhand! :0) I've heard similar things about other products there. (And I've occasionally gotten strange things, though not clothes.)
I'd be curious to know if others here have any input on this.

I don't think they are counterfeit, it doesn't make sense (to me) to fake a fairly inexpensive item.
They could be items that have slight faults and went to outlet retail.

I don't know about the cuddl duds in particular but in general I think you are safe if the item ships directly from Amazon. Where you take your chances is if it comes from a third party seller. I think the "sold by third party but fulfilled by amazon" items are in some kind of grey area too". I'd also avoid anything shipping from Asia unless it's actually an Asian item.

Diana, so true about Asian-shipped items. I got a toy for my DD and didn't realize it was being shipped from China. It looked like either a counterfeit or like a defective item; was also dirty and damaged and didn't come in a sealed package. The brand is a good one (Lamaze) but the toy was not to be found elsewhere, so maybe was discontinued. Anyway, it looked so suspicious and definitely not something I would feel safe giving to my little one to play with.

Oh yes, I've also read reviews of people getting expired beauty products from third-party sellers there...

You may be on to something. For some reason the makeup I order from Amazon seems off somehow.

elpgal, I've noticed they sell products discontinued elsewhere, which means they are at the very least very old...

Interesting. It never occurred to me that I wasn't getting exactly what I could have bought in a store (at a cheaper price). I'll be paying much more attention in the future and I'll avoid third-party sellers. Thank you.

I've ordered Cuddl Duds from Amazon and I've also bought them in the store. Just make sure the Amazon product says "Cuddl Duds" and not another brand. When you type in "Cuddl Duds" in their search, it will bring up those and all similar items. Just be sure you're purchasing the actual brand that you want.
