Crushing on this dress

Anyone seen this beauty in person? I am smitten because it looks super comfortable and versatile. I like the pleats. I like that it's navy The tie waist looks nice. Spendy though, and the fabric is synthetic. Any thoughts on what qualifies this as a $445/$229 dress? I see the brand is Vince but having never bought Vince, it doesn't signal anything to me.

Ever stumble on an image of a wardrobe item that nags at you (in a good way)? That is this dress for me. If fits, it'd suit so many occasions . . . in pre-COVID era. Now that we're home all the time I can't justify cost. So, shall wait it out. Maybe the next time it's on sale, the world will feel differently.

I think the next time it is on sale, it will probably be as clearance, so the sizes will be picked over. If this really checks all your boxes, and it's very rare to find something that does, I would consider buying it. I have a few such items in my wardrobe, and they make me extremely happy.

I have bought a number of Vince items, mostly pants and sweaters, and have enjoyed them, but feel I’m paying for the name, for sure. I do like the style, length, sleeves! and subdued pattern.
I very mixed feelings about high- dollar polyester Summery dresses unless they are to be worn inside in a/c, which would be true for usual office dresses. And of course, there are only so many fabrics, and maintenance issues with cottons and linen and silks ( meaning dress may crease severely during actual wear. So, many dresses ARE polyester, or acetate, or similar.

It is a very pretty and laid-back looking dress. I love how it's shown with loafers. I have some Vince items, and generally I think the quality is very good. To me, it's a combination of the design and quality that you're paying for with Vince. There's a relaxed vibe about the line that appeals to me. I agree with Gigi that sometimes it's worth having a special piece that calls to you. Might be worth ordering to try it!
