Cruise planning post 6: battle of the day dresses

CAVEAT: Apologies for the jumbled order of the pics; I got a bit carried away.

Four much-loved day dresses enter the ring, only three will leave. Which one will it be? I love all of these and am having a hard time deciding, personally, so I defer to you.

1. Sleeveless multicoloured circle print
2. Turquoise day dress
3. Black and white polka dot midi dress
5. Cotton Jessica Howard fit n' flare midi

And also, since I finally have my white clams back, here's a bonus shot of them with one of my previously approved tops (pic 4).

Only one more to go, I promise!

Wow...this is tough, Michelle.

I am guessing a bit about fabrications here. First of all, I think you need at least one sleeveless. The floral midi (I remember the purchase of that one!) seems a touch more dressy than the turquoise, so if that is relevant, that's information for you. But I truly love them both and if one of your toppers will work (e.g. the white denim jacket?) then perhaps you can bring both of these?

The plain turquoise shows how much weight you have lost and looks as if it won't wrinkle, so those are advantages of that one. Also, it could be nice to have a plain dress (versus a print) in the suitcase in case of any printed toppers/ shawls, etc.

Black and white is really nice on you and a very different vibe; it feels more like a dress one might wear to work. But it really depends on what you will be doing in them.

Suz, the first three dresses are all wrinkle-free fabric. The Jessica Howard is cotton, but holds up really well too. And I just love it. I was thinking of using these dresses for dinners on non-formal nights, exploring the ship on "at sea" days, that kind of thing.

Wow, these are all great and so flattering, Michelle! I think you should choose based on the accessories you'll have along, comfort, and the needed level of formality.

My favorites are the solid turquoise (3) and the floral (5), but the black-and-white optical print (3) is also a stunner. #3 might be a bit more day-to-evening than the other two. I like #1 a lot, too, as a casual sundress or even over a swimsuit.

These dresses all highlight your new figure so beautifully! You can feel wonderfully confident in any of them.

You look great in all of them! I like #5 best, followed by #1 then #3. #2 is similar in color to #1 so I would pick whichever you like better between #1 and #2.

Seems like you have a color theme going on with the green, teal and turquoise. I like all of the dresses but the black and white does seem more "office" than vacation so just based on that i would leave it home (where it waits to be worn on first possible day!).
White clams are looking good!

Definitely take 1 and 5. It's a toss up between 2 and three for me. My only feedback is that I associate the shape of 2 with someone older than you are. It's not unflattering, just older than you are to me. However, your white denim jacket would probably take care of that. I'll just sit here in the fence until everyone else sorts it out.

If you can only pick 3, I vote to leave the solid teal at home. You look great in all of them, though!

I have a strong preference for 1, 3, and 5 over 2. To me 1, 3, and 5 are elegant and the colors are dramatic against your own striking coloring. To my eye neither the color nor the cut of #2 are as flattering.

Michelle, I love both of your blue dresses - definitely bring those! Gorgeous shades, and both fit perfectly. The white clams look fab with your orange top. BUT. I would leave behind the black and white polka dot dress (it reads too business-like and non-summery to me!) and the floral midi dress (I'm not wild about that particular pattern). I think the first 2 frocks can be dressed up or down, will take you ANYWHERE on your journey (meal times, shows, walking on excursions, enjoying the deck). They hit the perfect note for relaxed cruising!

You can't go wrong with these beautiful dresses, but if you need to leave one, I also vote that it be the black and white, simply because it looks more office, less vacation.

Honestly, I say take 'em all. One more dress won't take up that much room!

If you absolutely must leave one, I also vote for the black and white because it seems the least cruisey. But you look amazing in all of them!

I vote for #1, #2 and #5. The black and white dress seems a little more formal which may be nice for a dinner that is in between casual and formal. Sometimes they have them on cruises but I can't remember what they call those nights.

Really they all look great, but since I think I would leave home the solid blue dress because I love the patterns so much. Great choices!

Your figure really suits a v-neck so I would take #1 and #3 for sure. The print midi is really different from the others, so maybe that one too, although the turquoise is lovely as well. My dear, you have a serious problem here - you are spoiled for choice! What a nice situation to be in.

I vote 1 and 5 for sure, since both of those look fun and summery and "cruise-y". It's a toss-up between 2 and 3 for me, so I'd go with the one you like best. The new clams look terrific. You'll get a ton of great outfits out of those.

I like all the dresses, actually! However, #1 is a stunner and is my personal favorite. I don't recall seeing it before, but the colors are gorgeous, the cut is fantastic on you, and it is really highlighting your sleek curves.

I know many have said to leave the black and white, but if it's breezy out on deck, then that one will probably be the least likely to fly up on you, right? (I overthink things.)

Good grief, this is HARD!

Okay, definitely the solid turquoise in #2 with the sweet little curvy sleeves, and the floral printed purple midi. Both make you positively glow, and show off your figure beautifully. Gorgeous! Also, the turquoise should translate beautifully to night, and will look lovely with your white denim jacket too.

Now, in the battle of the prints, which is really the tough part, I think the strappy blue-black dotty one in #1 wins by just a hair over the black and white optical print in #3, because (1) I like the extra vertical movement of the first one's print and (2) I think I like the sleeveless better, plus (3) the colour of the first seems easier for day-to-evening and more fun for a cruise.
