Cruise planning post 5: beach bags

This one will be quick and dirty. Call it a prelude to the dress faceoff coming later today once my favourite one has been picked up.

Which of these two beach bags would you take with you, the black and brown or the blue and green?

Corey and I have the same preference, but we await your verdict.

I like the blue and green best too simply because it's a bit brighter and more fun, but the solid blue bag is nice too (just more subdued color.)

I think either will work well with the rest of your beach capsule sine all the colors ate adjacent on the color wheel ( blues greens teal) or neutral (brown).

the navy and tan has a zipper and from a practical point of view it works better on a cruise. plus that looks like a longchamp and those hold up really well.

Is the black one a Longchamp? If so, I vote for that one! Great quality, lightweight, very durable. I like the look of it better too... a bit more sophisticated. I have a Longchamp and it's ideal for travel. I use it as my carry on.

Is it just to go to the pool - then the blue and green. Or if you want to also have versatility to take to port excursions - the navy.

I have no idea what brand the black one is, but I picked it up for a song. The blue and green is a Lands End. Both bags have a zipper.

The blue and green certainly looks spiffier! I suspect from a tactile perspective it would feel better than the black too (I have an identical bag in blue, and while it's more useful than cotton canvas on wetter days, I never liked the feel of it).

My vote is for black and brown. It will be a better choice if you need to toss a wet swimsuit in it while on an excursion.

That reminds me, if you haven't already got one, one tip I picked up online that we loved on our cruise was to take an over the door shoe organizer to hang on the back of the bathroom door for all the little incidentals that can clutter up a room. Cabins on a ship are tiny and there is almost no counter space. It was nice to have a place to put our room keys, sunscreen, band aids, hairbrushes, etc.

Either would be great, but if it the one to the left (yours) has a zipper, I'd vote for that.

So interesting to hear the divided opinions!
Corey isn't keen on the black and brown bag, acknowledging that it's just the handle style that's throwing him (not his vibe, I ugess). It's made of a great slick nylon-y material and folds up nice and small. But then again, so does the blue and green, which is made of a stirdy canvasy fabric and has a touch of extra room for towels and the like. They both have zippers (I wouldn't countenance a beach bag without one). It's really a tossup, and the thread reflects this!

Green and navy bag is more fun!

I have one of those fold up bags although it is packed some where during my renovation. It is very useful. I see it more as a city type bag whereas the green & navy bag is summery and beach and cruise-worthy.

I like the blue/green and it'll go with your swimwear very nicely. However, if the other one is a longchamps or lookalike, I can vouch for how versatile and light and perfect for travel they are. Although mine has a longer handle so it can easily go over a shoulder... Can you carry this hands free?

I prefer the longer handles and more casual cruise-y vibe of the blue and green one, myself. I can't stand bags that I can't fit on my shoulder.

longchamp...goes along with your more sophisticated beach wear, esp that kaftan! as a bonus, you can wear it with your casual day outfits.

Ah. I thought that the black bag was a Longchamp. I vote black bag (the Longchamp look alike), because it works better with your sophisticated, lady-like, polished and modern classic style.

Yes, I also was thinking that your beautiful coverup would look better with the black bag instead of the preppy blue and green. However, which feels more comfortable carrying once it's all loaded up?
