Crossbody bag rut

I love my new purses but I realize that almost all my bags are worn crossbody. Living in nyc it's just logical to wear my bags like this, is anyone in the same rut? I see lots of purses I like but I avoid buying anything unless I can wear it crossbody. How do I get out of my rut?

Black bag - Isabella Fiore Gipsy tote

I haven't decided if I'm keeping the white bag, it's really soft buttery leather but I'm not sure it's "me" yet. The Isabella Fiore bag is already one of my most favorites ever, I love the 70's vibe! Thank goodness for tjmaxx!

I don't see any problem with it. I like to keep my hands free too. So tote bags are only for work because I drive. If I take the metro, or walk, I like crossbody too.

What about a luxury backpack? Are they big enough for your needs? That will make you hands free. You can hold it in front in the subway to fend off pickpockets.

It's not a rut, it's a groove. I've tried all kinds of bags and for me a cross body can't be beat. Hands free, works on the bike, lots of classic styles. What's not to like?

I sometimes carry a small backpack instead. Something like this:

I wish I could wear a backpack but I already carry a violin on my back for work. I strap on the violin, the crossbody bag, and sometimes I carry a little tote with my stage shoes (black stilettos hehe). That's how we do it in the city.

Thanks for the thumbs up on the white bag. It is growing on me.

I like cross body bags also. To say it's a rut is like saying I'm in a rut because I wear boots everyday. Well, it's winter and it's cold. They're just practical and functional.
