Cropped pants: not for me I think

I bought these online from the store that our lovely Deborah works at and I've finally had some time to try to style them.

I've decided that I don't think they're me. I don't wear pants much so I found them hard to style. The fabric is lovely and they swing beautifully when I walk....but they are quite fitted around my thighs and I feel a little 'exposed' in them, if that makes sense.

What do you think?

#1. Valley girl jacket/top, Motto cropped split pants, Jane Mercer shoes
#2-3. Zara white tee under Witchery top from years ago, same pants and shoes.

I think they look amazing on you. You have beautiful ankles. So I would try to get used to them! But if you can't, don't keep them, because it's no good feeling uncomfy in your clothes.

I am not sure. I think they are flattering - but I do agree more ease in the thigh area could be better. But then you probably would be too big in the waist.

What size did you get! I think they look great but I can see how they are firm on the thighs. I would normally fit them to be looser, they are a wide leg and don't they move beautifully;). Having said that, I like the look of the fit, but you have to be comfy. They look like a cropped flare and your styling is really cool:)

To be honest I'm not sure either. And you shouldn't feel uncomfortable in your clothes!

Hi Deborah. I bought a 10 because I remember that the 12 Moto jacket was so big on me. Maybe a 12 would be better, and they're jersey so probably would be ok at the waist....but I'm just not sure if they suit me.

I'm not sure these are the right ones but I really like the way you've styled them in 2 and 3. You're repeating the wider horizontal bottom line of the pants hem with your top and I think it's very pretty, feminine and flattering. The little bit of leg and the heels add some structure and delicacy. Pretty!

The key may be that you don't wear pants much. What you describe is not and issue because the pants are cropped but because of the fit on the thigh - which would be the issue with full length as well. I find that if pants are thin jersey fabric then I want them to be not close fitting at all.
The style itself looks very good on you!

I like how the length and drape showcases your ankles, so feel this style could work beautifully for you if you're comfortable with it. That said, I have a similar feeling about fitted jersey pants around my thighs--feeling a bit exposed is a good term for it. So I do a lot of experimenting and trying on to get things right. Have you worn them around the house? I don't know what return policies are like there, but I often wear knit pants around the house with the tags still on as they can give a bit (sometimes for better, sometimes for worse).

I love the way you styled the pants in the first photo, but I do see that they seem tight on the thigh in the other outfit. As Sveta said, a lighter weight jersey pant needs to be looser. Try a size up before you give up on them perhaps?

I like the style on you and I don't actually think they look too tight. However, my hunch is that they'd be better in a soft woven fabric. Better drape.

I like them. As long as you wear a high vamped black heeled shoe - the pants will work, Coco. JFE.

I can't assess their fit from these pics, though.

I love the length on you. You definitely can wear cropped pants! I agree with others - size up and see how you like the fit before you give up

I think you look very modern in these outfits. You look good but if the pants don't feel comfortable, you should probably return them and try a larger size.

I think these look really amazing on you and didn't notice the fit issue until you pointed it out. I would continue to look for a similar pair that fits a little looser in the thighs. I think you could absolutely rock this look!

I think the length is good but would also be troubled by snugness on the thighs. I would try another size or fabrication.
