The cropped kick flares from Express - the Bell Cropped Jean - can probably be hemmed since there is a substantial flare. (I got them and LOVE them although I do not need to hem them).

The Find does not go the Express site, so here is the link. They are MOVING LIKE HOT CAKES so grab them now - lots of sizes sold out already. They run TTS and on me, had a high rise. I am shorter in the rise.

I've also tried on lots of cropped skinnies - only to return them because they were sausage-casing deluxe. But the Rocket Crops from COH are excellent. Good fit and not sausage-casing. Run TTS.

You can also get a pair of inexpensive petite bootcuts - like from the Gap - and hem them to a cropped length for the same visual effect.

Okay. That's it on the forum for me today. Must rest my arm.

I haven't seen any of these in person, but Anthro has a lot of petite jeans styles (although not all of their stores carry petites). Some finds below, and the whole page is here:

(Of note, they seem to have a lot of petite CoH, AG, and Paige styles, which are hard to find elsewhere. Plus their own line, Pilcro, always comes in petites.)

I don't actually need petites in jeans (I have long legs) but I find I tend to prefer it in crops because I don't wear heels and I like them a little shorter. Plus the rises are shorter, which is one way to get around the whole high rise thing (which I dislike greatly). For example, my olive culottes are petite.

I am enjoying my Current/Elliot cropped jeans enough that I would consider a darker wash pair. Clicked on the Express link but all sizes larger than a 4 are already gone.

I'll be posting WIWs of my petite (no, wait, they are actually juniors' in short length) flares (but they are full length) and petite cropped "relaxed skinnies" with let-down hems. I don't think I'll be going for any cropped flares, though. Hope you feel better soon, Angie.

I received a pair of hand-me-down cropped jeans from my daughter (one nice thing about being the shortest person in the family) that fit me very almost exactly like the Express kick-flares above. I'm enjoying the look a lot--there's something flirty and devil-may-care about it. And I think the proportion is a good one for petites--something about seeing the slenderest part of your legs beneath the pants hems, maybe.

I have a pair on order from Express they did not carry the style at my store , as I have said before my area is the last to hop on to any new trend. they are an additional 30% off as they are already on clearance as so few sizes left.
I am excited for them to arrive.

Bare legs issue = add a sock in the same color as the boot, maybe that will give you a little extra coverage? I'm planning to wear SmartWool socks in black with my black higher shaft booties and let the socks peek out.

I got the Express jeans ordered for a steal, something like $27.99! Hope they work out - the price is definitely right, even if I take them to be hemmed.

I LOVE my cropped flares. Both light and dark wash. See below.

Here’s the caveat. I do not like the dark cropped kick flares (#2) with contrast booties (flat or heeled) - or at least not yet. I ONLY like them with low contrast heeled ink booties, or black ankle strap pumps. I like my faded Current Elliot cropped kick flares form the NAS (#1) with lighter booties and ankle strap pumps because they are light and less flared. So there you go. That’s my assessment for the moment.

Hm interesting. I was planning on getting only one high-shaft bootie (a light pair) but now I must rethink that. Perhaps I can find a way to work in two, one dark and one light. Or perhaps I should've ordered the faded pair from Express instead of the dark! ><

Twist! On a whim I checked Nordies for the CE pair and they had one in my size (and I had Notes, woohoo). On their way to me now. If they fit I'll take them to my fancy tailor to see what he can do with that hem. Looking forward to seeing the Express pair in person on Saturday.

Did you size down in the CE's, Aida? They run VERY big. I'm in a size 24 in those - and I NEVER wear a size 24 in jeans. Always a 25 or 26.

Yep. I ordered two sizes down from what I have in the Love Stories, which are a bit loose now (and apparently need to be rehemmed, as I found this morning while testing out what I had originally planned to wear Saturday -_-).

I wish I had seen this and ordered those Express jeans! What a price, and I would love a pair of dark cropped flares. I am going to swing by our pathetic little mall this weekend and see if they are in-store. I think cropped flares are still too forward-thinking for most in my area, so I am hoping they still have them around.

BTW, the Pilcros from Anthro are what I have, and I love those.

I went to order the Express jeans yesterday and they are practically free . I bailed at the last minute telling myself I do not need another pair of trendy jeans. Want, but don't need. I'm going to make do with my Free Bird cropped flares - even though they are a pretty faded wash and I would love a darker pair. I have a pair of unworn straight legged dark jeans that I am going to hack off at that cropped length, and they are just wide enough that it may have the same effect. Stay tuned

I looked for the Express several days ago and couldn't even find them on their website! Then yesterday I was at one of our malls and I stopped in the Express store and asked about them. The SA gave me a look that said 'I have no idea what you are talking about.' - and then pretty much proceeded to tell me just that. She'd never heard of them - asked her co-worker and neither had he. Seriously.

I've ordered the C/Es twice - and both times Nordstroms has canceled my order. Seriously.

And I live in a climate where this style would work without having to worry about covering up that exposed skin! Just doesn't seem fair!

Thanks, Angie. I may try those Express, although the rise would likely be too high on me. I did order a pair of jeans from Jill, of all places, as these came up when I googled "cropped petite jeans". We'll see.

I tried the Pilcro's from Anthropologie that Viva has, and they swallowed me up. The rise was too high and the flare overwhelmed me, which was most unexpected. The CE and the Express cropped kick flares fit me so much better.
