What crazy fashion advice still echoes in your head from your youth? I distinctly remember one from my mom's Cosmo magazines (read illicitly, of course). When introducing a new-to-you style or element (the example was a knee high boot novice), you might worry how often to wear the new item and as a result, not wear it very often. To solve this problem the author suggested buying two in different colors and alternating. There may be some merit in that advice, but it's also resulted in some duplicates that languished unworn. Why do I remember that from over 30 years ago? Do I even still believe it?

What useless fashion rules, suggestions and advice need purging from your synapses today?

(It's taking awhile to discard the "don't wear brown shoes with black pants" rule.)
