Of course while I was replying, there were more posts that crossed paths, so now I want to respond again
Runcarla, Seriously, I had no idea about yellow trending when my craving for yellow started. Look at what I wrote in my response above about purchasing yellow flowers! LOL! (Plus the landscaper had his mason work on my flower beds because they were waiting for a permit on another job and he accidentally pulled out my Black Eyed Susan’s thinking they were weeds......). Yellow makes me think of my DD, who just became engaged June 1st. Her bedroom, which sits empty unless she is visiting, is yellow. I need to redecorate the room to make it more appropriate as a guest bedroom. When DD was little she wanted me to change her name to “Dandelion Daisy”. Our last name would form amazing alliteration with that, and it made everyone smile. Wearing yellow helps carry some of these happy memories. It brings much joy, especially the recollection of Dandelion Daisy days.
CJH, Thanks! I just had my hair cut two days ago so it’s looking neat at the moment. I am so happy with my natural hair color. When I go back and look at old pictures and see myself with hair coloring I wonder what I was thinking?!
I keep getting interrupted, so my responses are going to be condensed for now. I will try to come back again tomorrow.
I instantly loved the third dress. The color is a perfect fit with my palette. I tried it on before my surgery and thought it would be good for work, and it could be dressed up or down enough to work in most of the settings of my life except the most formal. It’s also an easy shape to wear. Very comfortable. I like solids because they are so easy to accessorize. However, it may be a bit large once all the swelling goes away. I had it in my pile of clothes for the tailor. Any shorter and I would reject it. I like where it hits when I sit, but am not entirely sure it’s flattering with my second and third appraisals, and I had second thoughts. There was a similar dress in periwinkle with sleeves, but the hemline was too short.
The first dress is a much warmer and more saturated yellow, but I still think it’s a lighter yellow than the shade of yellow Angie might wear. I love the colors in the print. I can wear my turquoise glasses, or my red glasses because both coordinate well with the print. It seems to fit well in my closet even though the yellow is not an exact match with my color swatches. This is where personal taste, judgement, and emotion come into play. Not everything in my life can be about a perfect match to my palette right. Sometimes a dress just reaches out and shouts a subliminal message and it brings joy. In this case, I’m hearing Dadelion Daisy —— but is this really the right dress or can I find something better?
The second dress is my favorite color. It also sits exactly on my color palette, as do the Eileen Fisher items in the WIW. It’s a lighter, cooler toned yellow. It’s a hard yellow to find in a dress. It’s hard to find at all...
.so I seem to grab it anytime I see something I might consider wearing. I don’t love the ruffles, the linen, or the fit of the dress. I will return it.
