On Angie's post about wardrobe essentials, I mentioned that I have a hard time pinning down what my essentials are. Angie suggested black booties and trench coats are probably among them, and I do think she is right. It made me think of one of my pairs of black booties that I have been wanting to replace: the Munro Lexis, which I have had for a couple of years and worn quite a lot. They are no longer as comfy or quite as nice looking as they once were. I don't want to buy the same boot again. I feel I'd like to have a Chelsea style--something I've had in mind for a while. I think I'd also like for them to be more toward the dressy end of Chelsea style, as opposed to rustic or rugged.
These boots have been on my mind lately, and I'm wondering whether it's a good idea to get them now, or wait till Nordstrom Anniversary sale and fall season?
The first four finds are my current black booties. The first pair are the Munros I would like to replace.
The other Finds are possibilities I've identified. The Cole Haans are both appealing and on sale; I haven't seen them in person. I've tried on the Fluevog Cairo 2.0, and they feel pretty wonderful and are gorgeous. They are very expensive for me, though, and I think they will still be around next fall.
What do you think? Should I shop for these now or hold off and shop for them in season? Do you have any thoughts on taller versus lower shaft styles?
