Sorry for the bad pun

I am seeing cowboy boots everywhere -- what is up with that? I have a gorgeous pair of chestnut brown Cole Haan cowboy boots gathering dust in my closet. They are probably old enough to be considered vintage ... anyway I got all excited thinking I could pull them out again. Can wear them again this fall? If so, with what?

You should totally wear them! Heck, wear them with any of your tunics or even that new purple dress! Oh, they would look great with that lovely blue tunic you had on when we went shopping.

I would love a pair of cowboy boots but I feel like I should get some regular, Chicago-winter-appropriate ones first. Cowboy boots feel like more of a "fun" boot -- but since you've already got them, you already have the fun ready and waiting!

Oh good! I will dust them off. I am thinking of getting a plaid tunic at NAS so cowboy boots might be the perfect finishing touch.

Hee, hee, Sarah ... it's probably best for me to stay in the Flatlands, where men wear baseball caps and Cubs t-shirts and think it's the height of style. That, and tall blonde handsome hubby, have saved me from the dangers of cowboys forever.

I've been thinking about this since watching Holly Hunter in the TV show Saving Grace. Her character (an Oklahoma city cop) pretty much always wears jeans, a knit top, a jacket, and cowboy boots. She looks amazing. If I could look that good, I'd wear cowboy boots every day.

Post pics, Laura! My husband has a pair of pukka cowboy boots that he wears here in Vancouver (and his style is otherwise totally non-cowboy). I love them!

I loved the look of cowboy boots with dresses that was in a couple years ago. Hanna, I could totally see you doing that. I dreamt of it, but my calfs didn't allow me to indulge in the look. Plus, I think it looks better on skinnier ladies and I'm definitely curvy.

Cowboy boots are one of those items that I admire on other women, but I don't think that I would ever wear myself (never say never, though!). It can be part of a really cute look.

Eh...I think this look might be regional. If you wear cowboy boots in NYC, you're going to get a lot of strange looks. A can see a more understated "cowboy inspired" pair working just fine, but not pukka cowboys. I can't comprehend anyone wearing them outside of a ranch or stable. They look costumey to me. I think it's because people here just do not wear them so I'm not used to seeing them.

Laura I hope you go for it. Aren't cowboy boots classic? Sometimes (and some places too I guess) they are more "in vogue" than at others, but there are always some kickin' around somewhere!
