I couldn't even stand up in heels like that much less take a step. Reminds me of the article Anna posted earlier today. Definitely not running away in these!

I should measure my new Miu Miu booties. They're pretty tall, I can do a 5" heel with a platform. Though really shouldn't.

I have a history of multiple serious ankle sprains (same ankle) so I try to be somewhat careful! Even with platforms I feel that towering heels can't possibly be a good idea!

My max is 4in with a min 1/2 in platform. 3.5in effective heel, no prob.

I decided about 2 years ago to get rid of all my heels over 4". I only had 3 pair. Now I only have a handful over 3" with no plans to go over 3" in the future. I also had a nasty ankle sprain in that time fame.

I have a pair of 5" with 1.5" platform. I also have 4" with .5" platform. They are not the same even though their effective heights are both 3.5" and they both have wedges for stability. I definitely have to balance more carefully in the 5" than the 4", and my calf sometimes cramps up in the 5".

My favorite "high" heel height is 3.5 to 3.75" with a .25 to .5 inch platform. I can go in those for a long time, plus I still get a really good height boost.

I can barely walk in 3" heels. I went on a week long work training last October and took my 3" heels to wear with dress pants. Well we were sitting most of the day and my ankles still were killing me by the end of day one. Most of the rest of the week I wore my shorter pants and flats. I am SO awkward in heels!

I've been moving away from high heels and recently purged a couple of pairs that were around 4 inches or so. To me the extreme heights often look awkward because the women wearing them can't walk naturally in them. it brings attention to the shoes in a less than flattering way.

No, but I would not suffer because of that, as I find these shoes are very ugly and I do not like any shoes of this style. Also, I have never seen anybody walk nicely in such heels.

These would fall in the 'sitting shoes' category, the ones you put on after you've found a seat and take off before you have to stand up again. The highest heels that I can walk in is 4" with a platform of 1.5", and it's not been easy- I've done the subway route in them too! These days I stick to a max of 3-3.5" and only when it doesn't involve a lot of walking.

yes i can i started walking in heels since i was 10 because of my huge feet I'm 9/12 i can walk more than 6 hours in the mall and feel perfect but i know in the long run ..i can suffer from something ...plus i hate the heel caps have to change it a lot so like christian Louboutin would say...it's for indulgence not meant to walk six blocks

I wore white boots with 6" heels for my wedding (platformed), but the heel was not stiletto. I COULD walk in the shoes posted, but the very narrow heel makes them far more precarious than other shoes with comparable height. I used to go all out on heels and platforms, but with three children I rarely/never wear them anymore. I still have a couple of pairs that I cannot bear to part with, but at my age and place in life, they would be rather ridiculous to wear in public. I don't exactly go clubbing anymore! I still wear 3.5" heels, though, and possibly will go to 4" in a hidden platform style that isn't too outrageously styled. But overall my tastes are moving beyond platform styles, and platform pumps just don't strike me as fashionable anymore. I much prefer a shorter heel with no platform, as it looks more elegant to me.

I would die trying as those are beautiful.

My tallest shoes are a pair of Jimmy Choos at 5" without a platform. They are beautiful. Of course I'm not going to trot around for blocks in them but they are surprisingly comfortable. My others that high, have platforms. For me it's not necessarily the heel height that is the critical factor. Sometimes it's more to do with the shape of the shoe. Haven't quite figured it out.

I love shoes, flats, stlllettos, everything between. I do think mid heel shoes 3-4" are becoming more readily available and popular with the higher end designers.
