I would love opinions on what color I should get in a pair of flat oxfords!

I live in a very conservative small town, have dark brown hair, wear lots of black (feel good in black). I love Angie's black and white oxfords but wonder if I should go for the black patent or a black leather pair (less dressy to me) or a brown pair (of another brand). I guess I wonder about the black and white pair being too dressy for my lifestyle. My lifestyle is very casual.
I would mainly be wearing them with straight or skinny jeans.
