[ETA: solved, case closed.] Could use some feedback on these boyf

Sorry for another post about these jeans! You guys have been so helpful, and I really appreciate the input. I just need a little more hand-holding to get a grasp on these then I'll be good to go out on my own! I started the day off learning that I'll be needing a near-$2000 root canal/crown, so I'm just going to be seeing what I already have in my closet that will go with these! I don't see many new clothes in my near future!

If I could just get some honest feedback on how some of these combos work/don't work (I can take it!), and the way I'm wearing them, shoes, etc. I took a couple butt views, cause I'm still not sure about that.

Edited to add: I gave up on cropping, so don't mind the messy room or goofy faces please!

Edited again to add: I just exchanged this size 10 for a size 8. I know they're supposed to be baggy, but it was just a little extreme to start with for me, and I was constantly tugging them up. I guess these are transition BF's!

Ouch for the root canal.
Regarding your outfits I think that the ones where the top has a little bit of sleeve balance more the proportions(although I like 5,12 and 13).
#2, 10 and 14 are my absolute favourites.
#8 maybe would look better if you tucked in the shirt a little bit.
The ones I am really not crazy about are 1 and 4 although I could see 1 with a long sleeveless blazer(vest) on top of it.

You look great in these BF jeans. Personally, I like #2, 3, 4, 6 and 14 best.

I like all the shoe choices, and all the tops go nicely, too. What I like best are the ones where you've semi-tucked the front with a belt; to me, that look is more deliberate and stylish. For the untucked tops, I think the ballet flat-style shoes makes for a little more polished look; so that's a good option when you don't want to wear a belt. Great job on trying out all these different looks. You look great in the jeans!

You wear the jeans very well. #2 is my absolute favourite and I also like the others Angie mentioned, for the reasons Celia did.

You look great in BF's! I think BF jeans look best with a loose semi-tucked top, so my faves are 2 and 6. Try semi-tucking 7, I bet that'll look great. Do you have any loose white or grey cotton t-shirts (maybe your real BF or husband's)? Try that.

The jeans look great! I like the stylings best when there's a touch of dressiness added, whether that's through the top or through the footwear. It makes for more interesting style juxtapositions. But it looks like you've got great options for wearing these jeans across the casual spectrum! Sorry to hear about the root canal, I don't have problems going to the dentist but gah I'd be super bummed to lose $2k of my clothing budget. Hope it goes smoothly for you! And hey, at least these jeans are probably a good option to wear for it

#2 is also my favorite. All of these look good but #2 stands out with the semi-tuck and belt. Ugh about the teeth!

Your bf's fit you really well! You can wear them with confidence now. I also wanted to add that I had a root canal and crown a few years ago, and it was very non-traumatic. The worst part was the needle to numb the area. But I totally get it that you'd far rather spend $2000 on your own wardrobe, rather than give it to your dentist for her or his wardrobe!

So I just exchanged these for a size down. I hope this doesn't make me a fashion failure, they were just too baggy for me for now. The new ones end up as more of a slim cut version I guess, but I feel much more comfortable in them. Hopefully I haven't made a terrible mistake!

I picked up a new plain white $8 v-neck per Isis' suggestion! Attached a photo below with the smaller size.

Hm the new pair doesn't fit like BF jeans, more like a relaxed skinny. A different vibe. I personally prefer the first pair, but we all need to work with our bagginess sweet spots and you need to be happy wearing them after all

I like 2 and 3 the best, and quite like 9 (I am always drawn to matching tops and bottoms....)
I think 2 is the best. Stripes and jeans are a winner and the accessories are perfect. I think 3 is a very flattering shape t-shirt.
Fit on jeans is hard and they often stretch so I can understand!

Kind of bummed they lost the BF vibe...I wish there was a size in between. The fit of the first pair just brought me back to my teens and early 20's, being really uncomfortable with my body and wearing lots of really baggy skater pants and "dad pants" to hide it. It was kind of giving me flashbacks to that fashion period. When I realized later that I could wear pants that actually showed my figure, and it looked ok, THAT felt good and liberating.

I promise I'll keep trying baggier BF's...maybe in a few months after I can pay off that dental work!

Don't be too hard on yourself. People either love BFs or hate BFs. If it doesn't work for you, you don't have to force yourself to like it. There is a reason why there is a "Skinny Boy Friend" fit in Levis You are not alone!

That said .... You could probably try other bottoms like the silky track pants or harems? I think they would look lovely on your figure. And scratch your itch for an outfit with a different vibe.

BTW .... I loved your first pair of BFs too .... You look lovely in it!

I prefer the size up so much. Size is just a number - I've gone up 2 sizes to get the look I want. I feel like sizing down in BFs means you are really looking for a different style, although I get the slouchy skinny thing. But you need to wear what makes you feel best!

Woohoo for BF jeans! #2,3,4 and 10 are my favorites, particularly #2. I think the plaid shirts might look terrific semi-tucked with a belt.

No worries on sizing down! Happiness and confidence are a huge part of style. Do what works for you!

You have a lovely figure and I don't think the larger jeans cover up your figure especially when wearing a form fitting top. That said, it took me a while of taking pictures to embrace sizing up. After a while of taking pics, I just went with what looked best. I have so many different sizes in my closet now. I like #2 and #6 in yours pics and would like to see #1 with the ballet flats or shoes in #2.

You have to do what's comfy...it's annoying to be pulling up your jeans all day! I do agree that they look a little more like relaxed skinnies than BFs. But they still look good! And it may be that you simply need a different brand of BF jeans than these. Everybody's jeans are different, so just keep trying.

As for the outfits you posted, I think all the tops look great. The only one I didn't care for was the one where the top was almost the same color as the jeans (#9). I guess I felt like it was too much of a single swath of color or something.

#2 is fab. Agree some sleeve is great. Boxy T , semi tuck.

The fit is fine. I think we are riding the wave of all the in- between fits that are out there now, so that gives you lots of options; I got " slim BF's" , for example. I also had the problem of, I could take the loose fit, but the low rise and loose waist feels bad and created" exposure" when I
would bend or stoop, so I had to try different brands and fits to get my version.

Just wanted to give a little closure to this...ended up returning the previous "smaller size" BF's, and spent a little more to get a pair of the sexy BF's from the Gap. I went with a bigger size again, but they feel much better and more substantial/comfortable on me. Just wanted to thank you all for the help and guidance again, and to let you know I ended my quest successfully, and look forward to my relationship with my boyfriend (jeans).
