Could this Moto work for me?-Ask Angie

I tried all fal/lwinter and even spring to find a moto jacket that would work for me and my broad shouldered, extremly short/waisted body...at Norstrom Rack yesterday I spotted this jacket only in a stone/white color, which I like alot, and it seemed to fit well, was longer than most styles I have tried on before hitting right at or slightly above the hip bone . I didn't have my camera (darn it) and was with my husband and didn't want to have to explain why I spent $160ish on myself not being convinced it was a "can't live without" item for me. So if you think this is a must for the wardrobe and would work for my shape (in theory) I will be back there on Friday and cross fingers it is still there....what do you think?

The one I found at the Rack was in a stone/white color but the style is the one pictured here at Overstock. Does that make sense?

I was looking at this exact jacket too! I don't see white either, though, just black and 'mushroom'.

I bought that jacket in black and love it- I will post a photo soon. It is a fitted shape and the length makes it great for outerwear which is how I will wear it. Also, very classic moto style.

I saw it at my Rack in black, brown, grey, and white. I thought the white was beautiful - very striking! I think it would make quite the statement with an outfit!

However, are you okay with maintenance of white leather? I thought of how my collars get grubby when they rub directly on my skin and how my cuffs ALWAYS get grubby (although I work in education where there is probably a lot of lead & graphite on every surface Anway, did your Rack have it in another color, that tempted you, that would be easier?

Greenlove-Oh my gosh, I have admired your Moto's from afar , so perfect on you! I just loved the feel of it and it's the first one I've tried on that even remotely looked good on me! Thanks for the thumbs up..

MN Sara- You make a good point about white and the maintenance. Unfortunately, that was the only color they had. Somehow, I like white better than black for me.I suppose I could order one from Overstock in the mushroom color, but I wasn't convinced that would be a great color for my skin tone. I'm wondering what Angie would think about the white ...hopefully, she can chime in again....

Carole, I just saw it on Overstock. I'm in Canada--no Racks here, sadly Hearing you saw it there is enough to tempt me to take a 3--hour road trip to Seattle, though! If you get it, please let me know how it fits in the shoulders--broad shoulders plus a smallish waist (for my weight) make jacket shopping tough for me, so I'm loathe to order stuff online.

If it came in this color, I would be even closer to driving to Seattle!

Brianna-I did try it on and I am very broad shouldered, short waisted. This has been a tough task for me, this is the first one I have even considered because they usually are too short, too tight or embellished in the shoulders or chest area, which is not a good look for me. I tried a medium and it was plenty big, which surprised me too! But MK does run large, at least in my experience. And just FYI, I was at the Portland OR Rack, Seattle might have a better selection, only white here. Do love that chestnut color!

Lovely jacket. I like how the white jacket looks but also wary of the maintenance. So how do you maintain the white leather? Is there any way to clean it at home periodically without dry cleaning?

Angie- Would white leather be a big maintenance issue? Do you think if you are just going to own one, it should be black? I just thought I might find myself wearing white more often..here is the link to the jacket I found...

Carole, I have a cream moto that's leather with knit sleeves and back, but leather collar. I haven't had any maintenance issues probably because I always make sure there's something between my neck and the leather collar in back...a scarf or popped shirt collar usually. I do this with leather in brown and black too to save on cleaning.
Someone mentioned a Mr. Clean eraser on another thread for cleaning white leather purses, I think. I haven't tried one on leather yet but they are fabulous on painted walls without taking off the paint, so should ber fine for leather.

Joy-thanks so much for your tips! I do have a Mr. Clean eraser on hand so I am all set there. I'm so glad to hear you haven't had any issues with your white jacket. I called and they are holding the jacket for me until tomorrow, so I shall post a picture once I get it home.
