Angie, they are the (unpleasant looking) picture below, from yesterday's post about whether they are supposed to snug up around your ankle or gap. If you can't tell from the picture, they hit me about two inches above ankle height.
I'm going to go ahead and say Suz and Lisa are right. But I will take any suggestions you have and try not to toss the whole idea just yet! I was hoping for something not tight, but then tapering enough in the calves to work tucked in. But...I may just stick with boot cuts and forget showing the boots at all. It's not like they are gorgeous, I was just thinking to get out of my usual uniform.
