Ah, that's too bad. Was it just a freaky boot or do you think overall quality was questionable? Which brand were they - I cannot recall.
I hate when it happens: when something you like style and comfort wise ends up to be a goofy quality...

That's such a shame about the quilted booties.

One more vote in favour of Docs...they are SUPER comfortable. That rubber sole may look questionable (to some) but I kid you not, for me those Marcies are 10 hour boots. The sole is the same on the Netties.

As far as sleek goes, I think of clunky or rough as antonyms. So in my eyes A heavy wedge would never be sleek. But it's less about the words and more about what you want
