COS with BJ1111 and Anthro on my own

It’s so fun shopping with BJ1111! Sadly, she had to go work, but I made another stop after we parted. Trying on dresses.

She got a dress in Massimo Dutti but I didn’t get a photo.

ETA I didn’t buy either one of these dresses, but I haven’t left DC yet... so speak up if you think I’m making a mistake by passing either one up.

Thanks, Sterling — that’s at COS. It’s probably the closest I’ve come to buying anything there. Wondering if I should stop back there and get it before I go home.

Ok, I had the black dress in my mind for the rest of the day. I’m not 100% sure about it because it’s not my usual thing, but neither are the sarong pants (which I wore today), and I enjoy those so much that I thought today, “I’m going to wear these more often!”

I waited out rush hour traffic and walked along the canal and the river for a while and then grabbed some falafel for an easy outside to-go dinner, so I was still in DC when it was approaching Cos closing time. I looked up the dress online and did not see it in my size on the web, so I decided to go back and get it in store. If I decide I made a mistake, I’ll be in DC next week and can return it if necessary.

Thanks, Jaime! I like that too — it’s available on the Anthro site in my size, so I can revisit it if it sticks in my brain. I actually think it looks a little better in person than in the photo.

The sandals are Ancient Greek Sandals — I think I bought them two summers ago, and have been wearing them a ton this summer. I haven’t reached for my heeled sandals at all, which is interesting. I’m not getting rid of the heeled sandals I have, but I’m sure not buying more.

I'm such an enabler - yes to both!

I like the black b/c it seems like an easygoing style that you will wear often

But I also like the Anthro b/c it's such an eye catching print. Definitely something that would be unique in the wardrobe.

I tried the same COS dress on in the green over the weekend. At 5'4" I felt overwhelmed by the length and color but the black looks fantastic on you.

I like the Anthro dress a lot. I saw it on the website myself but ruled it out because of the empire line, which doesn’t really work on me (long torso, flat chested). It looks great on you and the pattern is seriously funky.

This is hard because they both are lovely on you and so different from each other. I like the arty vibe of the Cos dress. Like Brooklyn, I love the colours and print of the Anthro dress, it really shows off what a great figure you have.

The real question is where would you wear these dresses? Are they practical for you?
