COS corduroy dress

Hi friends,

In the spring I bought a couple of COS shirt dresses and I have been wearing them a lot.

Now, I have seen this emerald green corduroy shirt dress on the website and considering ordering it:

I have not seen it in person. I do not know how thick the fabric might be.
Has anybody bought it or tried it?

They have it in black as well, I like both actually, but the green could be more interesting as I have a lot of black already. I am thinking it could be worn as a dress or a duster, quite a versatile piece. What du you think?

I haven’t seen this dress in person, but it certainly looks like it has great potential. Like the idea of the green too, its different from the usual black and since you seem to like wearing shirt dresses to begin with, I think you might enjoy a fall/winter option. I can see it being worn many ways as you suggested and even belting it for a different silhouette.

Oh yes, I can see you in this for sure Katerina ... the green is deep enough to be a very versatile colour, I'd say.

This is one of the dresses I already have, I am pleased with the style and quality. I have worn it as a dress, a dress over pants and as a coat while traveling. Held up fine after wash too. Rather substantial cotton - works for spring, cold summer and into the autumn with tights.

Beautiful colour! I'm loving all the dark, rich greens available this fall. I can definitely see you in this dress and I agree that it's a super versatile silhouette. Do share some pics if you decide to try it!

I definitely think it could be used as a topper. I most often wear my COS shirt dresses as toppers. It's a very versatile silhouette. That rich green is beautiful, and will be lovely on you.

It seems like a slam dunk for your style (gorgeous color with your hair!), especially since you already have a few COS shirtdresses in cotton that you are very happy with. The corduroy looks plush and lovely. I hope you'll show us a pic if you end up getting it!

Beautiful deep green Katerina, I think the colour would really suit you. I can’t comment on the style as being very short I feel that’s the type of style that would “drown” me. You’re much taller and I think could look quite imposing in that!

Gorgeous dress and/or topper. Very you. Dramatic Classic? I have a dark purple cord button through dress with a mandarin collar, a bit more fitted than this one, with an A line hem, and when I wear it as an open topper I feel fabulously dramatic.

2nd, the color is beautiful, rich and vibrant, dark but not black which makes it so interesting. But I’m going to spanner here…based on what I’ve seen of your style, corduroy feels a little casual for you. Of course, the past couple of years has impacted us all, and so your style might have relaxed and moved in a more casual direction.

I have a long corduroy shirt from COS from last year, in black. I’m not usually a corduroy person but theirs is more refined looking. I love mine and I always get compliments on it.

I also tried the shirtdress but I thought it was too long and overwhelming on short me. I loved the effect of the dress, but I had to settle for the shirt as a less dramatic version. I might reconsider and get the dress this year after all.

So I vote two thumbs up for the green dress if it fits!

Love a shirtdress nowadays, and love those deep greens! Much more rich then a black one, for sure! I would like it for You!! (and for myself, too!:-)) BUT would need to be soft enough, to drape a bit on the body -so not that stiff.... Hope you're ordering it and showing us when arrives!:-))

I have this in the black. Re your question about fabric thickness, I would say it’s on the heavier end as corduroy shirts go, but much lighter than a corduroy trouser or jacket fabric.
