Like Sal, I purchased a pair of cords this year.

We are currently in lockdown in my city. I haven’t left home for some weeks except to walk my dog and visit my mum (which is allowed because she is single).

The cords have proved useful. They are warm and comfortable. A great alternative to jeans for walks with my dog. They have a look and texture that is similar to velvet, which makes them feel a bit more special than jeans. But they have a similar ruggedness and utility to jeans. They don’t feel too precious to wear to the dog park with a bunch of exuberant, jumping dogs. (I love exuberant, jumping dogs. They are not worried by lockdowns.)
