I have only one crossbody bag that is from H&M and kind of on its last legs...

I really like this one, but the colors are throwing me for a loop. I have to say I have never been too impressed by the color choices they seem to make. I can't articulate why. I guess, to borrow a Project Runway buzzword, they look "inexpensive." Maybe even juvenile.

The bag I'm replacing is white, so I could just get white in its place. I don't think that milkshake pink (which they're trying to pass off as coral) or green are going to work in my wardrobe. Tan definitely won't.

Edit: There is this one too, though it's not a shade of red I would typically wear.

I agree the green is definitely "inexpensive" looking, and more tweeny looking. I think the red is very pretty, and of course bit more versatile.

The handbag in the second link looks more "Maya" to me. Interesting color - wonder if it's accurate?

You picked a nice one for yourself, for you I would get a red one too.
I'm not sure how the green would look with your red coat, maybe it would go, I'm not sure, lol, but I don't think it looks cheep.

I don't know Angie. I'm not a bag lady so I'm never really in love. Even my "investment" bag is a bit annoying. Never stays on my shoulder and is rather large. But it's hard to be picky when your options are as limited as mine are. I just want a nice vegan crossbody. If you have better suggestions I would be happy to hear them, but I have searched quite a bit and haven't found anything better. I'm ok with something that gets the job done and is reasonably cute and stylish. it doesn't have to send me over the moon.

I like the idea of a blue bag with a red coat. Would this one work, it's crossbody, blue and the material is not leather (polyurethane)?

It looks like you can make the strap long to wear accross your body. But maybe too big, I like this green.

That one is way too big, Renata. I'm also not a big green person so I probably would not wear it much.

Lisa, I am looking for a better quality bag this time around. Bags that are specifically vegan are usually made well, whereas bags which are PU just for the sake of being cheap (like the one I got at H&M) tend to crack and peel within a pretty short amount of time. I had a Matt and Nat tote that I wore all through school that held up very well, given how much abuse it took, so I like them as a brand.

This one would almost work but I really don't like the braiding. Sigh.

Well I do like the purple bag, dare I say even more than the green or red one's above. Braiding and all. It gives the bag a little texture.

Maya, I don't know if this helps at all - I saw their current "blue" in a Seattle store in September, and it looked pretty good. But I've been obsessed with blue lately, so I may not be terribly objective. This material doesn't have the color depth of their other lines (like Japanese paper), but it didn't look playground either. It could look fun with your new red coat.

Yes, I am a big fan of the Sedaris bag--mostly because of the name.

Maya, no, this "navy" actually looks better than the other "blue".Type in "blue" in the search box and it shows up.

Now that I look at them online, I'm not so sure I saw the same shade. I realize we all have our own computer monitor adjustments and etc, still, it's weird. What I saw was something in between the "navy" and the "blue". Eeep, I'm sorry.

You're killing me here Julie. I love your choices but they are so small! I need something close to the size I have now. It's about 11 x 7 inches (28cm x 18cm). This is the only one I found in that area:
