Copycat Windowpane Pants [ETA Finds]

I've been jonesing for a pair, and found these at Zara when Ms. Aida and I were shopping. Coincidentally, she was wearing a pair (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-a-day-off) that day. Finally got around to trying, then buying yesterday, and threw on a couple of outfits to validate their purchase. They are "ankle" pants, which on me is "normal" length I fear if I had them hemmed the leg taper would be lost...what do you guys think?

Oooh, I like 'em!! But then, graphic black and white, in a windowpane pattern? You hit two of my sugar eyes.

I would leave them full length, too. I think it makes them more versatile (I and I don't much like ankle pants, so there's that bias too).

Oh how fuuun, you went back for them! They look super, especially at full length (plus you could just roll 'em up if you wanted shorter, though that's certainly going to look more casual than having them actually hemmed up shorter). LOVE the styling options, particularly #2 with the printed top and cool jacket. So these aren't flared like the cream ones? I don't get that at all! I'd have sooo gotten the cream ones if they were tapered :\

No, funny enough they're called leggings! They do have a side zip, which is kinda cool, but not much stretch, which I though was required if you were going to call yourself a legging (they weren't really calling themselves anything, FWIW).

Weird! I don't recall the material being legging-ish, they just look like slim trousers

I think you'd be better off turning them INSIDE if you wanted to wear them as ankle pants... noone would be the wiser.

Ooh , I like these! They look great on you too - and I love both #1 and 2 for styling. I'd leave the length as is, looks totally fine to me, and would be the way I'd wear them too. And as Elizabeth says, I'd be more inclined to turn them under rather than cuff them if you want them a tad shorter.

I love side zip pants, they're my favorite and hard to find. These look great at full length.

This is polished urban autumn perfection. I think the pants length looks good although I am viewing on my phone.
Eta. And I think all versions work, which do you prefer? The black jacket looks more dressy. As do the okalas.

Those are great on you, Ann. I especially like them with the black and white draped tee. And the two jackets are terrific with them, too. I like them full length, and the roll is fun. Did you try rolling them with the Okalas, to show off the ankle strap as Karen did in the recent blog post?

I prefer them full length - or you would need to shorten AND taper. Anyway full length is more practical for your winters.
I am envious of gals who can buy ankle pants and have them full length: usually I buy full length and they end up being ankle length on me!

Wow, these are so nice, and make your legs look like skyscrapers:-) Love all the 3 incarnations, but I would roll them higher but thinner for the rolled up look! Good job, and beautifull spot on trendy jackets!

I have the same sugar eye as thistle. I really like these and they look very nice on you. All three great outfits but #2 is my fave.

Elizabeth, the white ones are creamy BUT they are also flared. Totally different looking pants.

Aida, I meant the white stripe in the black windowpane pants above... how white is that. I have the BR windowpanes, which are VERY creamy, so quite restrictive for my tops... I don't do cream next to my face. I'd love a more versatile (for me) pair If of windowpanes.

Oh gotcha! I'll let Ann answer that then, I can't remember offhand but suspect they are creamier

Elizabeth, It's white, but not optic. I think they'd go with all whites that you might pair for a top.

Às a shorter gal myself, I tend to like the regular look. Love the double monk strap on the shoes.
