Copycat challenge - Day 2 - YouLookFab Forum

Okay, so this is not a blogger photo, but I did find it on Pinterest. It is actually a catalog photo....I really wanted to wear a faux fur vest and a dress....

I did this in two variations...

I have to say option one has a skirt with volume and is what I wore yesterday and I felt so awesome and sassy with the swish of that dress. I felt like I looked okay since I noticed admiring looks from women when I was out and about... The pictures of course tell the truth and I feel it wasn't flattering to my body and didn't celebrate my weight loss. The faux vest was my reward to myself for reaching the halfway point....

So, the second option I went for a straight cut and tights with low booties (my maiden voyage wearing booties and a dress) and I really like this look and will definitely wear it again soon.

Really wish I had the time to do my hair differently with loose curls and volume but alas as a home schooling mom, no time available...

I actually really like #1 on you and think you are being way too hard on yourself. It has a 70s integrity and while the cut of the dress obscures your waist, there is not doubt that you are smaller than the dress! Sometimes pictures fail to tell the whole story. If you felt great and were getting admiring looks, you probably looked awesome. With a dress like that, some of the joy and beauty is in the motion.

I agree with Suz, great outfit in #1. Maybe your eye hasn't adjusted and you're getting slim enough to wear a flowy dress without as much figure definition as you think you need (not to say only slim people can wear flowy but I know it's something I struggle with - figuring out how & when flowy works - and it seems easier for the very slim).

I also agree with Suz! I think it might be the fuller sleeve in the dress in #2 throwing your eye off, but I like the dress a lot, and I think both options are great.

So pretty- I love the dress in #3! Looks both polished and comfy - a hard combination to pull off.

I like the dress in #2 as well - not everything has to be super form fitting (although I know it's tempting after weight loss to make it so!). And if you loved wearing it then that says it all

I posted a full front picture of the dress in # 2 on my blog and it just doesn't look flattering especially as i was walking in the photo. Maybe I couldn't get that image out of my head or my husband's expression when he saw that I was including that photo on my blog....

It looks fine still -- remember, in movement, that dress will swish and move and hint at your figure underneath. So I still stick with my position that your outfit rocks.
